I have just bought a 3 year old that I want to fit my WOW saddles to. Unfortunately I'll need new panels as my previous horses have all been TB. I think I know what I'd want for this guy, but wanted to see if you agree. He is currently unbacked, but once he is ready I will have my fitter out to check saddle fit. He is welsh x hannovarian and is 15.2. Hoping he won't need size 0 as I want to use my size 2 seats. Does he look like a flat or curved tree?

anyway, here he is -

From looking I'd say a size 1 DWG panel with a flat Y bar, but he has a bit of dip so you may be able to use the old curved resin trees as they are not very curved.

If I was fitting him, and I should say first I know nothing about Wow saddles really, I'd say he was flat, moderately wide (wide-xw?) and needed a tree that was flat from front to back, but not hugely wide from side to side across the top, definitely not a hoop tree from what I can see, it would not give enough contact. I would use a flat "neat" tree with a not-too wide twist. Dunno if that helps you much though :).

He may of course change as he grows and need something wider through the top.

Hence why I want my wow fitted to him. It can be adjusted as he grows, even if it means a different panel or tree.

I was thinking SD panels as he is so different from my tbs who were in DWGs. Will see what fitter says. Was hoping you wouldn't say flat tree as mine are curved :( he is no flatter than my tb who was in a curved
