I changed Vets to Buckinghamshire Vets.

Firstly, he made me trot Ned up and down and up and down (knackered! lol!) and he decided to do a nerve block, as he wasn't 100% where the pain was, even after feeling around and a hyperflexion.

Ned was absolutely fantastic for him :) he stood nicely while the vet did his thing.

After the nerve block he was trotted up again and he thinks the pain is NOT in his knee or his fetlock, like I was previously told, but in his hoof!!
He'll be back next week for an X-ray.

Thoroughly impressed with this vet :) hopefully the X-ray will be able to tell us exactly what is going on!

Thanks guys :)

He was fab!! (the vet) there was no faffing, no umming and ahhing and he was really informative :)
He wasn't afraid to nerve block either, when the last vet said she really didn't want to because of how he is. He was perfect today :) didn't snatch his hoof, didn't fuss or shove :) what a good hoss!

Thanks guys :)

They're funny, my mare is usually impatient on the ground if you faff too much but when the vet visits she has endless patience and time!! She must fancy him :P

That is exactly what you want in a vet. The horses' sense it immediately if you have a confident vet and tend to behave themselves. My vet is, imo, one of the best, no nonsense and in nearly 30 years has never got it wrong. I dread it when he can't come out.
Good luck with Ned - at least there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel for you x

Glad you are beginning to get some answers! Well done for getting a second opinion :) Here's hoping you're back on your Ned soon :D

Glad to hear you have found a vet that your happy with & Ned is happy with. Good luck for Monday with the X Rays keep us updated. Will have everything crossed for you :)

This sounds like really positive progress at last Nah. fingers crossed for you and Ned.

I'm jealous of how he behaves for the vet. Mollie's terrible for mine although she loves the farrier. She taps his bottom with her nose while he's working. I worry
in case he thinks it's me. :redface3:

;) Ha we all know its you really :D

Usually he's a right pig! He almost ran the last vet over, he snatched his hoof away and kept trying to shove her over with his face! Maybe he felt at ease with this vet, he was so calm :)

Great news :)

Our normal vets has commented in the past how impeccably behaved ours are to treat, he should have seen the reaction when he sent the young vet out, there was no way our old TB was picking his feet up for her, and once he's got an idea in his head his muleishness won't let it go, I felt a bit sorry for her!
