Some people have pretty serious reactions though don't they? Maybe she swelled up? My mum will swell up massively if she gets bitten. If it's on her arm, the whole limb balloons.

I've somehow never been bitten, so i wouldn't know. I live in fear of them after horror stories from my mum. Jungle Formula are making a killing out of me this summer

They really dont hurt me at all. I think people react differently. I never feel them bite, just suddenly feel this sharp pain and look down and find the little bugger sucking on me!

I get bitten all the time, however my OH's brother had to leave Glastonbury festival earlier this year and rushed to hospital. A horse fly bit him on the ankle, swelled up, and somehow the infection managed to spread to his lungs!!

I once had a massive reaction too (not sure if it was just because of the position). I got bitten on my left temple. The ENTIRE left side of my face swelled up... really attractive. I did not go to work till it had gone done, lol!! But that's probably more a vanity thing than not being physically able to!

I swell up loads from horseflies. I got bitten on my finger one day (dunno how I didn't see it) and the whole of my hand ballooned and all the way to my elbow swole up. My knees seem to swell up loads as well when I get bitten there.
