What's a sensible budget for emission-friendly 2 horsebox?

As I live near the London Low Emission Zone I soon need to buy a another horsebox - anyone got an idea of roughly how much I will have to spend to get a secondhand 2 horse box that can be driven in the Zone and can carry two horses? Just needs basic day living. Would prefer a proper lorry not a van conversion.

HI

You are unlikely to get one that will take two horses and have day living without going over 3.5 tonne.

As for price, hard to say but they do hold their value really well

I too have been hit by the LEZ. Got round it by buying a petrol lorry. Although I could just about scrape up the money to buy a newer lorry which is currently compliant I would rather wait a while because in 2012 the emissions standard will change again, and lorries will need to be 2006 or newer. So unless you can afford something like that my advice is to wait a while! By the way, its worth checking your current lorry against the eligible ENGINE list, because some lorries which are older than 2001 (the oldest I have heard of is a J reg), providing they can pass a special emissions test, can be compliant.
