It's been a little damp here. Our nice new field has a huge lake in it now, which is exciting when ducks come, but not so nice for grazing.
There's been no talk of pony jail for a while now, for which I'm very grateful, although I'm still a bit worried: the Carrot Lady keeps calling me Whale Pony instead of Spooky Pony. I think a whale must be something very large. She says it especially when she's trying to do up my girth.
Yesterday it was beautiful and warm, but she didn't come to see me until really late. I didn't mind, because the grass was so very sweet, but when she finally came, oh boy, it was really really scary! Her face wasn't her face at all, it was blue, and mad, and had blood all over it!
We'd been running around already because of all the people screaming, and then she came over and told me to calm down, and that's when I saw her face that wasn't her face at all. Then she put it on top of her head!!
And underneath was her real face! She had two faces!! But it was ok, really, because she didn't have two smells; only her normal smell.
The screaming people left eventually. They went back in the place where the person that feeds Clobber-me and the Orange Chief gets the food from. She sometimes throws me a carrot, so I like her.
Today, it was raining again, and really windy. We'd all planted ourselves nicely with our bums to the wind, and I was eating peacefully, but of course, it's got to be the yucky day when the Carrot Lady wants me to come with her straight into the rain and wind to go for a ride.
We went to the square place with a roof on. There were new lakes on the paths, which was ok, because I knew the paths were there.
But then there was one of those loud fast things that are usually on the road! It was beside the path, and it was making awful howling sounds and not moving, and there were people all around, shouting!
I didn't want to go past it at all, because it wasn't supposed to be there in the middle of the forest, but the Carrot Lady smacked me, and so I went past, and then I tried to gallop really really fast, and she didn't like that either.
When we got to the square place with the roof on, I got to wait in one of the high-security pony jails and have a nibble of hay, before we went in. There were other horses there, and jumpies, and the Scary Chicken Flap Man, and it was all very scary, but I didn't have to do the jumpies. I just had to go around all the jumpies and keep changing directions, and do lots of that thing where you move your bum around your front legs (I can do that both directions now!!), and in between, I got to stand there for a bit and watch someone else do the jumpies.
After, we started to go home. There were lakes much higher up the path now, and I wasn't so sure, and that noisy fast thing was still there with the people yelling, and the Carrot Lady seemed a bit scared
, so we turned around. We went the way where there's usually a road, but today, there was a river there. I was a bit worried about that. But we got home ok, and then I finally got to go back in the field. Although...I did like that it wasn't raining in the high-security pony jail!
The Carrot Lady kept asking people all night: "if this is the sunniest part of Scotland, do people elsewhere use snorkels when they go outside?" What's a snorkel?
It sounds like it's something to do with the weather...If she's so worried about this rain, then should I have one?
Carrots,
the Spooky Pony
