Was wondering how much hacking, jumping, lunging and flatwork you all do with your horses each week and how long you would ride them for per day?

Also if you compete in dressage do you do more flatwork than anything else, likewise for jumping do you do more jumping than anything else, or do you do a mixture of everything?

mine get on average when competing.......
two mellow days (roadwork or hack/school in field) (about an hour)
one lunge usually with pessoa (20 ish mins)
one lesson usually flat, jumping if we dont have a show or i have a problem (about an hour)
a day off
a show or 2.

mine showjump, but i have more flatwork lessons than jumping. As the jumps are easy if the flatworks good. (apparently!!)

One of my horses plan for next week (starting mon 16th) is -

mon - jumping lesson
tues - hacking
weds - hacking
thurs - flatwork
friday - hacking
satuday - either hacking/jumping/flatwork
sunday - show

That is pretty much his typical week but without the lesson normaly he has mondays off. I don't jump him any more than I have to, only if theres something I need to work on, I have a lesson or just before a show if we haven't left the gorund in a couple of weeks. I find competing once a week is enough.

Well last week my routine was
Monday-schooling
Tuesday-hacked for 6 miles,included bit of roadwork
Wednesday- had lesson inc jumping
Thursday- hacked out was out for 2 hours
Friday- took him for a hack but didnt do much and had a play in the rivers
Saturday- Schooled him
Sunday- hacked him out
I dont do much schooling with him really last week I Had a spurt to do it so did, I wouldnt say that schooling him as much as I did is a lot anyway. Just is for me lol.

I tend not to jump much at home anyway, as I know horse will do it unless we have probs, but im not one who goes out sj anyway, I will be out jumping though this year but its working hunter not show jumping.

Tia now gets:
Monday - Day off
Tuesday - Schooling
Wednesday - Schooling/Hack/Lunge
Thursday - Hack
Friday - Lesson (Alternates between dressage and SJ)
Saturday - Hack
Sunday - Hack
But bear in mind she is schooled on hacks aswel!
She will begin to compete in summer(once a week - probably a saturday!) and i'll be trying to get her fit enough for camp!

Well since I part loan, I have him 3 days a week.
At the moment it goes:

Day 1: Schooling (about 1 hour)
Day 2: Schooling and then a hack (30 mins each)
Day 3: Hacking (about an hour)

I mainly "do" dressage but am building up to do SJ and ODEs.
Generally I ride for up to an hour and a half a day. Hacking is longest, schooling is between 30-60 min depending on how long it takes to achieve anything, lunging is 20 min ish. Don't know how long I jump for, I can't tell the time when I'm that nervous lol!
I aim to jump once a week minimum, would rarely do it more than every 4/5 days. Usually I hack for three or four days, school for two or three, jump once, and one day off. That is, when my horse is actually in work (which hasn't been much since September!)
TBH I like to hack more than anything whatever I'm aiming for (dressage or jumping competitions), then whenever I practise for my next show I do as little as possible to keep my horse fresh and ready for it when I enter the arena on the day. But then I don't ride to be able to compete, I ride for fun and compete at whatever level I'm confortable at as we progress. If you get my drift (can't quite find the words to put my point across).

It varies but usually I hack 2-3 times, flatwork twice, jump once and she has one day off. I compete about once a fortnight mainly SJ/XC. A typical week would be:
Mon - Day Off
Tue - Flatwork
Wed - Flatwork
Thu - Hack
Fri - Jump
Sat - Hack
Sun - Hack/Compete

Finni competes Novice/Elementary dressage and typically does

2 days hacking
3 days schooling
1 day lunged (if i'm exhausted from work)
1 day at show
sometimes a day off dep on work and travel for me.

Well Gen competes in Dressage and his average weeks goes something like this:

Monday: Either day off or a friend hacks him out - usually for about an hour and doing all paces and sometimes popped over a log.

Tues/Weds/Thurs/Fri: Schooled - usually between 1 and 1.5 hours a session.

Sat: Hacked out for about an hour. This is his 'quiet' ride and he generally only walks out with a small amount of trot and on a long rein so he can relax.

Sun: Competing or hacked out.

Having finally got the weather and the lighter evenings I try to hack out at weekends for 1-3 hours each day, phaps school for 45 mins once or twice a week and having a lunge in pessoa once a week.

HOWEVER, after 4 days of being ridden over Easter, W has pulled a sickie this morning. Got call from yard saying hes not eaten breakfast and isnt interested in going in field. I guess we are all the same and occassionally want a lie-in! Fingers crossed its just him being grumpy and will shake off whatever is making him grumpy.

When Paris was in work...and competing(eventing) last year, our week typically went as follows:
Monday-usually a day off-for me and the horse!
Tuesday-2 hour hack including hill work as we live under the Downs, so trot work uphill etc
Wednesday-School for approx an hour
Thursday-hack approx 2/3hrs-schooling on ride, 5 min trotting, 5min canter work etc sort of interval training!
Friday-lesson to include jumping-1-1 1/2 hrs
Sat-if not competing, hack
Sunday-usually an event

I dont plan as I have a crappy paddock to ride in so it very much depends on the weather / ground conditions as to if I even get to ride at all!!

I usually lunge twice a week, ride the other weekdays doing mainly flatwork. I dont hack. I mainly event and SJ but dont do much jumping at home as they compete every weekend so that's enough.

Hi, We show jump and our typical week consists of 2 days hacking out for approx 45 mins, walk and trot, 3 days flatwork in the manege for approx 30-40 mins, a show sometimes and a day off.
Sometimes one of the flatwork sessions would include 10-15 mins jumping.
We try and have a lesson most weeks which last about 45 mins with jumping.

My boy had a busy time last week lol i tend to do more flat even though we showjump.
