What's an OK size of stable for a 15.3hh/16hh horse?

As title. IE what's the min. it could be without the horse being uncomfortable, unable to easily lie down, roll etc without fear of getting cast?

(PS don't worry I'm not going to keep my horse in a tiny stable

We have quite a few horses on our yard of that size and bigger in 12x10's, and all are comfortable, happy, able to lie down and roll etc

My 16.3hh is in a 10 x 10 out of necessity and he loves it in there. My 16.1hh is in a 14 x 14 and can almost exercise himself in it, its so big!!

12 x 12 would be best in minimum but this will not stop the horse getting cast if he/she decideds to roll when near a wall

I would say a 12 x 12 but if pushed an 11 x 11

mine are in 13/14 x 16 and the shetland has a 12 x 12-looks tiny in there lol!

my 16.3 is in a 14x16 and still managed to get cast!

The very biggest stable at my yard is 10 x 12 and a couple of people have 16-16.2hh horses. It's not ideal but doesn't seem to cause a problem as they're only in overnight.

Mine was in a 10 x 11 for 2 weeks (not my choice), and is now in a 12 x 12, she is much cleaner now as she can move away from any poohs
