I have new bridle arriving shortly and wanted to get it in nice soft, supple condition before I need to use it next Spring.

Any tips?

It's an oil dressing, I just lather it on with a hoof oil brush painting the leather, my friend puts it in a bucket and soaks her tack in it over night xx

It's for a Stubben 1085 bridle. I've got Blended Neatsfoot Leather Oil but was warned not to go too heavy with it. Think I read that on the Stubben web site. I use the oil weekly on my youngster's thin leather headcollar to keep it really, REALLY soft and weak, to ensure it doesn't rub and would break easily if she got it caught on anything when wearing it in the paddock.

I've have Stubben saddle soap. And, Effax Leather Balsam and Effax Leather Cleaner, but will check out the suggestions made. By the time I get round to using the bridle I'd like it nice and soft.
