Riding Sov for the first time in a week, followed by pulling 3 manes, a bit of house work to humour the OH! Then off to Church Farm on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday taking a pony that doesnt load to a show! Then a day off work on Monday
Daughter and my husband are tackling their third HT with the two oldies, last week's was a really stiff course Blackberry Castle or name like that? and as they drove in the gate they both moaned realising the course there is always a stiff one.
To make matters worse they were late as we had a flood in a cottage, so had to go straight in the 2' 9". It had an owl hole, steps, lots of water and the last fence was a massive brush they measured afterwards at 3' 6" Great if your horse goes through brush, but ours go over...! Chocolate the stalllion is still quite hard work but he's getting the idea, and he had just one run out, more a case of he attmepted to aim for a mahoosive hedge instead of the fence and c turned him in a circle to get straight. Flynn had a couple of stops but he is getting the hang of it and soon should do some clear rounds. We have a great pic of his rider driving him at the last brush really hard and he jumps as he slides to a stop if you know what I mean, so rider is arms high and looking worried!
This weekend is at Stockland Lovell and a really good course, they have entered two classes each as attempting Pairs with an ex stallion and a current one does not work, both are so busy pulling faces at each other they forget the jumps are there to be jumped..
CCJ has been taking Chocx to the woods to try and wind him into galloping without her pushing all the time, he is slowly starting to gallop but you can see his natural paces are slow and elegant!
Will see if I can post the funny pic from last week on the blog. www.henryhorn.blogspot.com
Am wishing i was competing, well wishing i was riding but am back at uni so no riding now until november
My sister though is off to Witton tomorrow of PN and we are all hoping the horse has calmed down after Allerton. Last event of the year for them and then its descision time as to when we are going to sell it
Just have house parties all weekend which is not too bad.
good luck to everyone competing this weekend
