village idiot :D
A owns a pony her daughter has outgrown. B has a daughter who rides A's pony. B offered originally to have pony on loan and then full livery at a local yard but on hearing how much time and money that would cost opted out, pony lives out at grass at A's yard and rider comes over several times a week. Only contribution is for the occasional trim. C teaches B's daughter at A's yard. C has a daughter and a pony. Still with me so far?
Pony Club camp looms. A's daughter grew out of Junior camp years ago so A has no reason to go. Last year A took the pony to camp every day for B's daughter to ride (no option for it to stay), left the trailer for them and came home, then went back to pick up pony and trailer. Total driving time of over 3 hours per day. This year as C's daughter is going to camp it came about that C's pony would come to A's yard and both ponies would be brought in to a home paddock so that they could be kept clean and more appropriately fed for the work of camp. The C's partner would come over and pick up both ponies and B and her daughter and take them to camp where he would be staying all day as he was needed as the responsible adult for C's daughter. C's partner's car and trailer stay at A's yard for convenience over night at this time.
A supplied hard feed and hay, and whilst the ponies were at camp during the day also supplied hay, water buckets, mucking out kit.
So in this little round robin is all fair financially or would you see that any money or favours needed to change hands? These were some of my wonders: Should A be paying C's partner fuel money? Should C be paying for the feed and hay eaten by her pony? Should B be paying petrol money and the additional feed cost?
What is your opinion?
