I would think that if you have a horse thats already been sidelined through injury you are not going to want to jump it for no real benefit on poor going!!! Why on earth was it picked in the first place?
In reality GB couldn't have done any worse, so why not pick some of the other guys? We the little people will never get to know or understand the murky workings of the BSJA and the selectors.
Well he had been back in action in international action for several weeks. Whatever we think of them Derek and his advisers are not so stupid as that. Portofino was not lame when she went - yes I know there were rumours. I'd actually not have been that keen on sending her because her form had not been as good as in previous years!

I have no connection with any of those involved, but I have to point out that your comment could be judged to be libel.

Only as you choose to read it implied some wrong doing on the part of a "?????" name. Or do you know something that we do not? My comment was not directed at anyone, did you read a name of a person or horse there (?) - NO. It was simply a comment and the phrase is one that is used on a regular basis in many sports, particularly in yacht racing.
Possibly I misunderstood your comment - as you were responding quoting the comment about fielding an injured horse i.e. Omelli. Perhaps in fact you meant that if we as a country paid for more horse power we would do better, rather than money changing hands to land a team place.
That comment would not be judged to be libelous at all... no names mentioned, not aimed at anyone, and as you've just proved yourself, it could be interpreted in a number of ways. It could have meant - he who pays for a number of good horses wins. As having a number of good horses would increase your chances of winning!
