I have had a name of my stud for 3 yrs now and i began with m&m's so the name was fairly common and basic. i have had some people question the name and everyone spells it wrong. Also it is related to the house and i may move. Furthermore i have never been overlly successful with this present name and every foal i have sold has gone out to compete using the name ex the stud name in front, is this telling me the name is crap?!?!?!?

SOO anyway i have been thinking of changing the name of my stud, i am also breeding top sport horses now and therefore want soming a little classier and smarter, which can be shortened for the front of the foals names and would be fair more pleasant.

has anyone changed a name before? should i do it? It would mean that i need to change all my bank details and inform my vets and feed accounts but thats not much hassel.

Im soo undicided??

HELP!

If you think that all the work of changing it will get you better results in the long run, then go for it!

I know it sounds pathetic, but you know that Norwich Union / Aviva advert? Think of that:

"Sometimes a change of name, is more than a change of name. Sometimes it's a chance to show the world what you can be." or something.

I'd say go for it!

What is the name?

If it is really crap then change it but don't be surprised if some people assume you have gone bust/sold to another owner. Gossipers love to speculate!

I think... 'Your name is your reputation' (that statment is not pointed directly at you) even if someone miss spells it, it is still the same, if you have stock out in the show ring etc you want them tied into your name and your good breed progremme, I would not think by the name it was a M&M stud. I would think it was tied in to the name of your house. My stud dogs & web site is tired in to the name of my house. If you have a web site and it is set up correctly Google will find your site using both spellings.
