What's in your horsey medical kit?

I have hibiscrub, sudocrem, loads of instant ice packs, a tourniquet, bute, DMSO (from previous horses splint injury), finadyne, danilon, syringes, bicarb of soda, table salt, thermometer, veterinary care 'what to do in an emergency' book, gloves, various creams and potions, dermagel, vaseline, stable bandages and pads to go underneath, tape, pair socks (for poultice), animalintex, clean bowl (for poultice) and vetrap.

Silver plasters, countless dressings of various shapes and sizes, aquacel dressings and betnovate/unknown big tube cream - all from my partners Mums house - they were used for her leg ulcers.

Silver plasters for faster healing and instant ice packs are my particular favourites.

Don't go overboard, a lot of stuff sold in kits you don't need, and horse first aid kits can double for humans too.

Betadine.
Syringes and needles
Swabs.
SWAT
Furacin
Flunixin
Depocillin
Disposable Nappies
Nappy liners
Vetwrap.
Cotton wadding
Lots of towels
Electrical tape
Duct tape
All the usual stuff Stethoscope, thermometer, scissors, weight tape, hoof knife, craft knife etc
Twitch
latex gloves

That's it.

I really ought to re-check mine and add some stuff but in addition to the usual stuff I have a small cheap head torch (for when you need some extra light) and a hoofpick (because sods law says you won't be able to find one when you REALLY need one)

I get quite a lot of human things as they work out the cheapest and do the same job as the equine version! Thank you for some suggestions as I haven't got a few that people have mentioned. Haven't re-stocked since last winter, OOPS!

danilon
hypocare
hibiscrub
hydrogen peroxide
magnesium sulphate
nappies
Gorilla tape
vet wrap
cotton wool
clean container
twitch

We have two, a main one that stays on the yard and a smaller one for the horsebox.

Pretty much what's outlined above - yard kit has lots more in it (pretty much as listed above) inc. range of drugs. Horsebox kit geared more towards injury than illness, has mainly dressings/antiseptic/tourniquets.

V. useful too, horse overreached badly out eventing this season and onsite vet saw to it (weren't sure if needed stitches at first, blood everywhere!) but because we had the dressings needed to get home it was v. cheap.
