She's not really worth anything, she's never raced and you say can't be ridden, why would anyone pay much for her ?

Unfortunately, just because her sire was a champion it does not mean she is.

In your other post you state she is an 8 yr old that is only just backed.

If you were putting her up for sale it would be a nominal value of maybe £1000 if you were lucky.

The market is swamped with well bred TB's - just take a look that the major online horses sales sites.

If you put the effort in and she turns out to be a lovely riding horse who gets some good competition results / experience under her then she'll be worth the same as any other horse of that type.

In this instance, her pedigree means nothing in terms of her monetary value.

Bryony hasnt said she cant be ridden, just that she has been broken and turned away. so she is obviously very green- never mind that, if she can get on with schooling her she could have a lovely mare. i think some threads have been a little unkind as Bryony was thinking she had a valuable horse without thinking it through!! so good luck Bryony with her.

An 8 year old horse that can be tacked up but not ridden must have a history somewhere. She might be worth something one day but she's not as she stands ....

Not a lot I am afraid. My ex-racer with good family history and a very famous grand-dad schools, hacks, jumps, is safe and is a general riding horse etc and I bought him for pocket money. I have all his history, racing details, family tree and how much he sold for at sales as a 2yr old, which was a heck of a lot and which was I guess based on his breeding at that age. He clearly was not quick enough as his breeding would suggest, so he ended up pretty worthless. So now I have him, and he is priceless to me. :p
