Im posting this on behalf of a friend who has the horse in question on loan to her, she has now been offered the opportunity to buy her, but no one is sure what value to put on her. So can anyone give us a rough idea of what value you would put on her:

15.2hh mare, cob x, 11 years old. Done some dressage and a bit of jumping, good in most ways although only 50% in traffic I would say. She has just been diagnosed with her heart being back in AF (she has already been treated for this once). Being in AF excludes her from endurance, she won't be allowed to enter. It will probably mean no hunting, no long rides, might affect dressage and anything that generally works her too hard.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, any opinions greatly appreciated :)

Absolutely nothing I'm afraid. Sorry to be brutal but they should be giving her away to your friend especially if she provides a good and loving home.

Given the heart and traffic problems a nominal sum I should think. Somewhere between £1 and £200 I would say.

I'd value her at about £400 if she's capable of doing something. To your friend though she may be worth more as a safe ride so I could see someone paying up to 1k for her

Meat money-the heart problem would not affect her 'on the hook' so to speak so is a realistic value and fair. Wouldn't matter if she jumped 2m, she is worthless sadly with the heart condition.

Agree more token gesture just to make it a sale as she could be incurring vet bills. Max £400 if not less as stated.
