Whats the best fly rug?!

Just back from the stables and have decided to cave in and buy a fly rug - although not so much for the flies, more for the bl**dy midgies!! Do the rugs work well at keeping the midgies at bay or do you need a sweet itch one? (he doesnt have sweet-itch). At the mo i am torn between the horseware rambo/rhino one, the horseware one with the fly repellant build in (although seems v expensive!) or the premier equine one, hmmmmm
ANy thoughts folks?
P.s he is pretty deep barelled so don't want something that will look like a skirt lol

Bucas are great

Just don't leave them in the reach of a stroppy horse on box rest as they don't stand up to being chewed very well

Seems to be working fine with the midges. Have got neck cover as well.

No but would have tried it if I did not already have one. Sounds like it would be worth a bit extra.

Premier equine do a decent fly rug with neck cover and fly mask for about £50.

I'd second Rambo protector - its soft and lets air through, some are very hot as they are such close weave. I don't have the one with repellent - don't get that really, it seems to do the job without.You could always spray them ( with budget home-made recipes as given out on HH forum?!)
