Whats the best massage pad or massage rug on the market please

I would love an equissage but they cost over two grand so I am still dreaming. I have an equilibrium massage pad which cost about £200 - it does the job and makes her looser in her shoulders. I am not aware that there are any others on the market.

hi there yes i been looking at the massage pad but i was wanting something to do the quarters as well , that really only does where the saddle goes doesnt it shame as good price as well !

I prefer the equilibrium to the equissage plus you can use it over whole back. It does wonders over my boy's quarters, I put it under a rug to keep in place and can really tell the difference

hi there thanks for your reply o soo you can move it onto the quarters ?? what sort of rug do you put on top ? and are you seeing your horse is more supple in the muscles ? sorry for the questions

Equilibrium massage pad is brilliant, has made my mare a lot freer in her shoulders and looser over her back. I also got the equilibrium massage mit which you can use on quarters, neck, shoulders etc although use this less than the pad as I normally put the pad on and then pootle off doing little jobs.

Soooo glad people are saying this, as I just bought one and a mitt to use on the smaller horses as a nice treat. I was worried about reading the post in case people were saying they were rubbish!!

Not been using it enough to notice a difference but I like to put it on the ponies anyway not because I think they are stiff more because im into physiotherapy (at uni doing it at the min) and want my horses to relax and prevent and stiffness occuring.

xx

I have the fmbs rug and boots (massage and pulsed magnetic) and really rate them.

Our very stressy eventer loves the magnetic parts of his programme on the rug and almost nods off during that phase! We used the boots after icing following xc at 3 day events and his legs have been stone cold afterwards. I haven't yet found a horse that objected to it (unlike the equissage) and those that tended to be tight over their backs all seemed better after having it on.

It is an expensive bit of kit but I don't regret buying it at all - I traded in my equissage against it.

I have the FMBS magnetic rug (just the normal one not the pulsing one which was over my budget!) and it has done wonders for my horse who used to be very cold backed and is now about 95% better than he was just from wearing it a few hours a day!

I also use the Equissage massage pad a couple of times a week which works well just before I ride, but the magnetic rug seems to have more long lasting effect.
