What's the biggest fence you have ever cleared?

Are you religious?

A very childish question!

Of course, not everyone is likely to have been as sad as me and taken a tape measure to said fence....

The biggest jump I have ever done was a 4ft 3 planks. At the time I was majorly impressed (even though I fell off at 2nd attempt, having jumped it perfectly first time

) I have since spoken to several people who have all managed to jump twice as high as this! (Well, perhaps not twice as high, but they've got a lot more to shout about than me

) Plus I have never jumped a course bigger than 3'9.

Simply havent got the nerve!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a jumping Pansy!

Biggest jump i've jumped as a single jump was 3ft 7 (about 1.10m i think), as a course was about 3ft 3 show jumping and 3ft 6 cross country (i know...that makes no sense!)
But i have jumped 3ft 5 on little ponio (13.1hh)- jumped 1m on him last night and he gave it room so may try him over some bigger courses next year as he really feels like he just plays with those jumps.
Jumping a bigger single jump doesn't scare but a course of 3ft 6 and a 3ft 9 scared me a lot when i did it...needless to say we didn't go clear (my numpty riding made poles fly!) and i haven't gone that big since!

3ft 6 as a single one off fence on my pony Ella. Realistically I haven’t done much jumping over 3ft.
I would love to have the chance one day to sit on a proper show jumper.

Wow - BooBW. The biggest fence I have ever jumped was similar looking with a sizeable spread but was not much more than 4ft and was on my instructors show-jumper. I loved it but wouldn't have the nerve now!

1.40 on Willie in our day and willie was only 14.2hh. It was a course of 8 show jumps but it was at home, I guess we probably jumped 1.45 out hacking as well. Riding willie has given me no fear of fence height.

On Chex it was 4ft2, did it once and I wouldn't do it again -I'm scared of heights

I did a course at 4ft, but that was on a 16.2 tb and didn't seem that high, it must be Chex stumpy legs that make the jumps seem bigger!

3'11 on my 14hh, but it was a decent spread. Biggest course I've ever done on him was about 3'9, which is the height he used to compete at back in the days. Now he's 15 and has got just as much scope but I spent a good 8 months getting to know him (I've only had him 9 months!)

Havent a clue about heights

we just go by fifth height on the wing etc lol

and had very scary incident with a five bar gate with barbed wire once

I frequently jumped 5ft courses.....a very long time ago!

Prior to moving here I was regularly jumping 3'6"-3'9" XC courses a few times a week - however these days I rarely jump as I don't have a showjumping horse anymore.

on my old little beasty who was 13hh i jumped about 3ft10 i think it was (he'd jumped 1.40 with owner!!!).
on my girlie i jumped a MASSIVE hedge out hunting (god knows hoe i did it with eyes closed lol!!!) it must have been over 4ft and have never attempted anything like it again i'm too much of a wuss lol. show jumping biggest i've jumped her was 3ft6.

A 4ft hedge with a 5ft drop. Was too scared to try the 5ft hedge with the 4ft drop.

Biggest course was the Jumpoff in a Newcomers class. What's that? 1.10m /1.15m?

4ft 1" single jump on a horse I had on loan yonks ago.

Rather stick to smaller stuff these days

yeah, newcomers jumpoff would be about 1.15! thats as far as we ever got too, lol! Though the 3rd round at the 1.05 trailblazers final was pretty big too!

im a bit of a wimp now- thats what having a slightly nsane ex-racer does to you- but i used to jump 4ft courses on my connemara pony.
the highest i do now is probably 3ft on the red meister and 2ft6 ont solster.

A hedge that was big enough that my pony couldnt see over the top!! Lol!! Apparently was at least 4'6ft and my pony gave it a couple of inches according to the guy I hunted with! Sj's was about 1.30m but was a single fence on an old SJer. Jumped a course of 1.15 but only at home on the same SJer!
