Oooh at least 3 foot - but that was at school when we used to spend our break times pretending to be horses. Actually on a horse, probably about 2'3" - whatever the average Clear Round is
Lots and lots and lots of chase fences (which are roughly 4'6" to 5' depending on who builds them, with a 6' base). Have a vid somewhere of my own horse taking off outside the wings, giving it a two foot clearance, and landing way out the far side - not sure how I stayed with him. Spent a lot of time being chased over large schooling fences on baby horses by irate trainer with big whip. Far too old for all that now
2'9" XC jump on my 14.1hh Welsh Cob (was a very inviting but upright fence, very deceptive, I thought it wasn't even 2'6" until instructor told me it was 2'9"!). 2'9" or possibly a shade higher SJ on Cookie who used to SJ properly in Holland and was showing me the ropes.
TBH jumping doesn't bother me though, although I enjoy it when I'm doing it and straight after, I hate the pressure of "having to jump bigger and better" all the time. I'm much more of a dressage person! I still haven't ever been hunting though and that's something I'm sure I'd get addicted to, however high the jumps!
A 5' single fence... was a long way down from what I can remember!
It was just one of those silly things, I'd said to my friend that "she feels like she could jump to the moon today" and so my friend put it up to the top of the wings and said "Go on then!" We jumped it twice, the second time to prove to myself that we really had done it! (and in 'cold blood' too, and I'm irrationally scared of showjumps!
)
Jumped lots of sizeable things out hunting, but as I'm not usually in my right mind when out hunting I don't count those!
I'm much more sensible now, and a bit lost wihtout my special little mare.
biggest i have jumped (as a kid ) was 3ft 3. havnt left the ground in 20 years so currently jumping new horse about a foot! i leave the silly heights to the kids! number one daughter has jumped 4ft 7 single fence on her boy and currently competes 3ft 3 to 3ft 6.
I jumped 5ft6 on my 13.2 in a puissance class once (I think it is about 1.60m!) same pony probably jumped the biggest track at 3ft9. Although taking the youngster to do clear round yesterday it felt like he was jumping at least 1.30m!!!
Unintentionally jumped a 5'8" stone wall, it was 40 years ago though! Cantering a circle and horsey just turned on me and jumped it, he was a retired show jumper and would jump anything! Was not my idea at all and I don't know to this day how I went with it and didn't bring us both to grief!
Single fence/small course at home about 1.65m (I am 1.78cms and the top hole of the wings came to my nose) - more than once. Have jumped a car for a Pepsi commercial too LOL! Biggest competitive courses were 1.40m. Unfortunately I do not have any pics - all was in the day before digital cameras LOL! Recently tho have jumped P 1.40m - just need to get round a course now
way back in time when i was a teenager i got into a chase -me-charlie, i had a big irish hunter to ride at the time, and i was determined to beat this stupid bloke.....i cleared 5'2"
and won!!
however these days i can't even jump 1'6"
as to gutless
i had loads of confidence jumping as a teenager - more like stupidity- but these days i don't bounce so well!!
I'm the biggest wimp ever- biggest Ihave jumped was 3 foot 6, and a course of 3 foot 3. Biggest XC was 3 foot, all of those were on a 11.3- on any pony bigger than here barely jumped above 3 foot. The pinacle of my jumping career was when I was 8.
My 13 year old jockey jumps our 11.2hh pony over 3'9" with a 5' spread - the jump is actually taller than him. Sadly because of her age, we are being forced to sell him.
Sounds similar to me - got bolted with and cleared (but only just, we nearly flipped!) a solid pedestrian gate that was only just shorter then me (I was 5 foot 4 at the time). Nearly died of fright when she sat back and I realised she was going to take it on.
Apart from that show jumped her over just under 5 foot (single spread fence), and used to chase-me-charlie a 14.1 riding school pony over 4'4".
