Hi there,
i'm currently selling a saddle on e bay and wondered what experience you all had of posting them? it's not a cheap saddle so i'm worrying already!!!

good cardboard box, some bubble wrap and if possible a few pieces of foam to protect vulnerable areas. If not as much scrunched up newspaper as you fancy!

then pop onto interparcel.com - very good rates

Get a box that it can snuggly fit in. Wrap the saddle in bubble wrap. Put in the box and then parcel tape the saddle to the inside of the box under the saddle seat from front to back - this stops it wrattling about :)

only ever send it via courier! It costs about £10 to post one in a large box via interparcel.com
The last one i sold on ebay the buyer claimed they hadnt recieved (about 4 weeks after it was sent...) thankfully they had signed for it so i had proof they had it! If i had posted it via royal mail with no tracking, paypal would have refunded them and i would be left out of pocket plus with no saddle.

Ive just sold my dressage saddle on ebay and sent it via Parcel Force, cost £19.02 and that was with insurance. Boxed it up and wrapped with bubble wrap, newspaper. Stuck "fragile" sticky tape all over the outside of it, got there 24hrs later (was 1st class) and new owner thrilled with it. Parcel Force get the big thumbs up!

fairly certain interparcel.com use parcelforce as one of their couriers - but still only £10 - dont buy direct from the companies, go through a website like interparcel as you will get a much much better price for the same service.;)
