What's the going rate for exercising?

As title really - Poor Paddy is really in need of a bit more exercise , so i'm on the look for a bit of riding help , how much do people charge say per hour for exercising , either hacking or schooling?

You will find it will vary as to who you use and how experienced they are but generally freelance grooms charge about £10-£15 for hacking/schooling.

Or do what I do I don't get paid and I don't pay because the girl who rides mine has no horse at the moment. So we're both benefitting

I'm not a groom but our yard manager is away 3 days of the week and pays me £10 a time to ride her horse. I'm there anyway though, if I had to travel I'd want more depending on the distance.

If you are paying, first find the person you want to exercise, then find out what they charge!! Essentially they want to do what you tell them, turn up when they say and ride how you want them to (within reason!)

I pay £10 for a great girl, I used to pay £20 for a useless & arrogant person and a brilliant friend rides free when around.

Unless you can find someone you are really happy with how they are riding your horse, you are better off having a sharer.
