Whats the ground like at Ebbesbourne Wake?

I just wondered if anyone on here has been before and what was the ground like? I cant decide whether to go or not

I could have a XC lesson at Aldon on the thurs with Eric Winter instead which might be beneficial with me thinking of doing pre novice sometime this season

Any opinions

It's on chalk downland so tends to be hard. Lovely course though and they do try very hard with the ground.
The sj is on a surface but the warm up last year was seriously hard- was the only bit they didnt treat.

Yes it was hard, but as Boss says, they do try. Hopefully they'll do something with the sj warm up this time.

I know someone very closely connected with the organisers, and spent some time there a couple of months ago. Havent ben to the actual event, but have to say the setting is beautiful, and their outdoor arena is a fantastic size. The water is a bit spooky, but generally a nice course from what i saw

i thought the ground was quite good. they have the whole track marked out and it is mown (not to short) and airivated when needed. i went there xc schooling last summer and we wernt allowed on the course, only allowed in the schooling area. i think they rarely let any1 on the track through the year!

will u be doing PN or intro? the intros lovely as is the PN!
