What's the law on Ragwort disposal ?

Having a blitz on Ragwort in our fields this week - but YO has asked for it to be emptied onto muck heap.

What's the law and regulations on disposal - I thought it had to be burnt or something ??

You should burn it.

It is a notifiable weed, look up the DEFRA guidelines

Well, it says in there that you shouldn't bury it in manure heaps.

Thought as much! Will have to have an investigation as to what YO is planning on doing with it!! Am sure last year she stored it till it dried out then burnt it .......... so am hoping her request for emptying onto muck heap is just to gather it all together .............
