I was just thinking really, is there a certain build (hight) of horse that is least in demand?
I was thinking that ponies in the 13 hand bracket. The way i think about it is that apart from the heavier set, alot of adults go for 14 hands and above for a "normal" shaped horse for normal activities. Equally, i was thinking about most pre teens/teens having perhaps a second pony around 14 hands to grow into more once they have had their first pony?

Also, am i right in thinking that 14 handers and above can BE?

Probabally get shot down, as all horses and their riders are different, but i was just wondering...

I know several pc friends who have missed out the 13-13.2 height, going straight from 12.2s to 14-14.2s depending on the size of the child.

I also think 14.3/15hh must be a tricky size - not one thing or the other! Too big for pony classes, too small to be a major contender in BS/BE - with notable exceptions of course! :)

But for some people I guess size doesn't matter, it's just about the horse and what they do.

My daughter went from an 12.1hh to a 13.2hh, but when the time came for a lhc he measured at a whisker short of 14hh, which actually turned out for the best as he's lasted longer than we thought!! She's going onto horses next year & as she's small will only need 15-15.2hh but I never see many for sale!!!

I also think 14.3/15hh must be a tricky size - not one thing or the other!

i think that the 14.3/15hh bracket would be mor ein demand than the 13/13.3hh bracket as happy hacker, non competitive homes etc are likely to have these heights as height doesnt really matter for fun! But as most of these people are adults they don go for the smaller ponies. If that makes sense!!
