Has anyone else got a 'Wonky'?? I get funny looks when I call him by his stable name - he isn't wonky honest, he just has a wonky blaze! His 'posh' name is Ayemkay Deimos Moon of Mars. Bit of a mouthful to shout across the field!
I get in trouble because all mine have human names - Iain, Eilidh, Lindsey, Winston and Jeremy! We have had an Eckiethump, Badger, Squirrel and Ferrari!
I also had both a horse and a husband called Joe. That caused some confusion, especially amongst the neighbours who could hear me talking but didn't who to.
My mum's horse is Maiden (still have to get used to saying that, she used to be mine!)
We have a few odd ones at work - Ennis (Connemara!), Mac, Blot (yes, Blot...!), Odin... and then there are the two Spanish ones, Canastero and Vega, and the Portuguese one Reguila. I have no idea if they are unusual names for Iberians but they are unusual for this country, I think!
At the other yard I work at there is Mikado, Jarvey, Legend and Flyer (two ponies, I think they are pretty odd names!), Petal (although flower names are fairly common, I think just 'Petal' is quite unusual), and there used to be a pony called Micklo.
I prefer the more unusual names though, I think
My last horse was Duncan (El Gamberro) and my current horse is Norman (Point Break). We had one on loan for a while whose stable name was Sam, but his show name was Deathwish II
Thinks it was when the films were popular though!
My friends mum's horse is called Precious China - horrid and totally untrue, she is the biggest brute of a mare ever!

theres an Andalusian stallion down the road from my instructor called Gallardo

Not unusual here! It's quite a common surname where we used to live too, I had a vet called Gallardo. It can also mean 'striking', as in impressive looking, so a good name for a stallion!
Beacon I always thought this was a really unusual name
and If the one I want tomorrow passes the vet I am going to call him 'Micah' as in Meeka so guess that's unusual too
my YOs horses are iberians- romana, sanardis and tradato are all pretty unusual
i know a horse called PRAWN!
mine are pretty normal stable names- kaya, beyonce, shantih.....
I think hovis is pretty unsual.
Then we have an Omar, the dog is called Amazon and my hamster is called hippy.
Never did go in for anything "normal"............!!
I have an Andalusian called Jalisco and a Spanish Norman called Theodore. A dog called Rocket, another called Cecil, another called Sydney and another called Lulu.
