That website is bananas

Belfast??!!

Postcode takes you to the Somme Heritage Centre a garden centre and an open farm, among other things.

Ads are a mishmash from obviously American websites (who says halter broken? And where are there 'pintabians' in Northern Ireland?) and UK listings

SCAM SCAM SCAM

They are real ads alright, I think I recognise one of the mares.
I think it is similar to the 'We will deliver you a puppy, pay us first' thing.

Dare someone to phone him tomorrow and ask loads of horsey questions.

Ohhh check this out, from Carringtons:

Please note if you are looking here because you have seen Dieter advertised on Banks Horses or any other website apart from this one then please be aware that it is a scam or con. They have pinched the details from a bona fide advert I placed. They are in no way associated with us and are in breach of copyright in using the details.

Needless to say Dieter is NOT I repeat NOT for sale for £1000.00 and I think it will be pretty safe to assume that non of the other horses on that website are genuinely for sale at the ridiculous prices being advertised.

I have reported this abuse to the authorities and I hope that the website will be removed from the internet. In the meantime please don't call me about Dieter unless you are looking to pay a realistic price for what is in fact a really really good horse.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

interesting! i wonder what the scam is? get people's email addys and then ask them for bank details? try and flog them something else? i was gonna email him but i scared now!!

Nah, you pay him but get no horse is pretty much the idea.
They had it here a few months ago with puppies. You email, send money, no puppy appears, now people have caught on, they are trying it with horses.

Should we all call him and ask horsey questions?

What level BSJA has he been competed at?

How many BD points does the horse have?

Does the horse windsuck? Is he a crib biter? (Put on a tone to act as if these were POSITIVE things, hehe)

Also always use "near" and "off" for saying left and right...

very dodgy!!!!! since when was the royal welsh show held in London????!!!!!!!!
crazy.gif

And he will certainly have problem selling the bay warmblood colt it was stolen about 5 months ago with his sire and few others!!

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post, so here goes, sorry if I don't get all the lingo right!!
I saw this advert on Horsemart last week and thought how dodgy it sounded for all the reasons you have said, including the horses for sale being from different owners on other websites. I read the info on scam on the Horsemart website and they stated: -

1. Check the prices - Is the price similar to the price of other animals of the same breed advertised? Scammers often under price the "pets" they put up for sale, so to attract more response. Do your research. How much does this breed usually sell for? (90% OFF!!)
2. Be wary of poorly written English, or poorly spoken English over the phone (although there maybe some genuine breeders with foreign accents, or well spoken scammers!) (YES POOR ENGLISH)
3. You should always avoid having a horse delivered. It is always best to pick up the horse from their home. A responsible breeder will always be happy for you to come to their home and would want to meet the new owners too. (THEY WANT TO DELIVER)
4. The Scammers commonly use Yahoo and gmail email accounts. (YES YAHOO EMAIL)

So I reported it to Horsemart and although they didn't reply to my email and I guess others would have complained, they took the 2 ads I saw off the website, he is still registered as a user "marvinb" but he has no ads.
I looked for another horse for 18 months from a genuine seller, this is so frustrating, is there anyone else we can report them to?

Scary thing is i have seen the 14.2hh welsh d for sale on horsemart for like £4000 so looks like he is stealing people adverts needs reporting to police IMO

If someone has seen some of the other horses for sale by different owners for different prices they should contact the proper owner.

I googled the phone number and it came up with horses, puppies and houses for sale.Looking at the site his number is a mobile which is also a foreign phone number????
Hopefully nobody will be drawn into his obvious scamming. Its a shame there is no way to report the dodgy ads to the websites he sells on.There seems to have been a huge number of dodgy ads just like this one all over the net lately.
