Whats the strangest thing you ever jumped??

I was just wondering what the strangest things all of u have jumped are? I recently saw a video of someone jumping a car in between an oxer!...........Quite amazing.
I think mines a dog, I hadnt meant to but it ran infront of us on a narrow path! he he.

Mines a dog too! Yard manager's border collie shot in the school and straight across a jump I ws jumping.

Or a sheep - went to local XC and jumped a chair jump only to realise mid air that there was a sheep directly behind the jump! We did give it a fright

My brother!!

When I was about 13 I made him lie under a jump and take a video. Was a bit of a disappointment - all you saw was blue sky, a black shape and blue sky again. Strangely he never volunteered again!

My friend used to have 2 old little cars (peugeot 205s or something like that) in her field so we put them bonnet to bonnet and used to jump that. The YO had a fit the first time she saw us

! We were only about 13/14. Probably wouldn't have the nerve to do it these days though

!!!

I also jumped an ambulance stretcher which was the last jump on a XC course! It was because St Johns ambulance were sponsoring the event and the loopy old dear who ran it thought it would be a 'novel idea'

oo I jumped a sheep once, I think it scared my mare for life tho' (was my own silly fault for not checking the other side of the log).

I also jumped a proper picnic bench which was on the edge of a picnic area. I couldn't hear anyone there so I went for it round the corner and too late spotted a toddler running towards it. Thankfully Cass didn't bat an eyelid but it was awfully dangerous. I'm glad she jumped it as I was wanting to do it for ages, but very angry at myself for being so irresponsible as to not check. I went back and apologised to the family, who were remarkably unconcerned (turned out toddler was on a harness so wasn't going far anyway and wouldn't have actually reached the bench, but still).

I also jumped a dog, I years ago (19+) we was going to fast to stop again down a narrow path thank god we managed stop by the time we came round the bend & came accost an old lady who was obviously with the dog,

A car, not the bonnet, right over the top - for a Pepsi advert (might have been Coke) years ago
grin.gif
The advert had loads of my friends in it too - one pretending to have a broken leg in hospital and *friends* came to visit, etc - we all had a blast....it was shown in the Far East however I sadly was the action double and a far prettier girl was holding my horse at the end and drinking the beverage LOL!

Two Mitsubishi pick-up trucks parked back to back, bit scary but not as scary as the next fence, The Lake.

Ach, I heard it was simply a rider scarer

So cool to be able to say you have jumped it
grin.gif
Isn't the big huge trakener rather scary too...

A sheet of corrugated iron roofing used to plug a gap in a field fence while gate shutting out hunting - thankfully horsey was careful
A sawbench complete with pretend circular saw at Atherstone RC

OH jumped my navy puffa on our non-jumping (supposedly) QH while practicing for Trec - it was supposed to be a walk over a ditch type obstacle - but madam thought otherwise. Not much fun for OH on a western saddle!

A baby in a buggy - by accident i might add. I was having a gallop on a local beach and there was a bank at the end which was handy to help stop.
As i came up to the top of the bank a mother and her baby were sitting at the top looking at the sea. My pony thankfully leapt over the top much to the horror of the lady. I think everyone was shaken after that.

I have jumped people before too lying under jumps - but i think we all try that one when we are young - could never imagine doing that now.

Well it worked!

They didn't have the trakehner that year iirc (it was 1998 though, so my memory could be failing me).

We all seem to have jumped an awful lot of sheep. Do you think they're on say "sheep online" giving great tales of the time they were nearly murdered by those beastly horses but how their bravery won through in the end?

Oh dear I seem to haev come over all daft. Maybe I should lie down until it goes away.

Ive jumped a park bench , the bottom of a slide, breakers on the beach. All in my younger days
shocked.gif
THB I would jump just about anything back then if it stood still long enough!!

There was a really cool fence at Bramham (and I think they had it at Burghley one year as well) that I've got a photo over: a GNER train. Ok, so it wasn't an actual real-life train - now that would be impressive!

a metal radiator that was a fence at a hunter trial.

one fence at Novice a few years ago somewhere or other was a dragon, with wooden triangular points all down its back. loads of horses were tapping these out, and iirc when i got back to the lorry one of the nails that had been holding them in place was stuck in the outside of my mare's front boot... nice.

I was riding on Dartmoor and went to jump a large gorse bush I usually jumped. I heard a noise in mid air and looked down to see a near naked couple of bodies in an interesting position. Luckily the horse was a big jumper. The moral of the story is look before you leap.

It might not seem strange but in the circumstances, I thought it was!! I was having a xc lesson at the Grange with my NZ trainer, we'd done most of the course and he was just explaining a few things to me then said "right, off you go and jump that picnic table" as in, a PROPER picnic table used for spectators,
shocked.gif
I just looked at him as though he was mad but I went off and did it and it was so cool. Funny thing is, it's not much different to jumping a purpose built table but I just thought it was a wicked thing to do
