Whats the strangest thing your horse has ever spooked at?

A carrot, I think, has to be the weirdest thing, as we were coming up from the field (must have dropped out of my pocket) and THERE IT WAS, lying in wait in the middle of the yard. Cue Riverdance dressage right round it to the tie-ring, me wasting my breath saying "It's more scared of you than you are of it, you twit" and when I fetched it for her to inspect, no prizes for guessing who came out of it worst.

Haha you are all gonna think I'm insane or drunk (which I assure you I am nether) but I was hacking down the lanes a few weeks ago and some asbo youth had drawn two giant man bits on the road along with some breasts. These were v large and all drawn in chalk i'm guessing. Pad went nuts snorting and refusing to ride nr these rude drawings, as he hates any marks on the road anyway.

WAs v glad when it rained and the naughty drawings washed off!

horses are so odd aren't they? Both of mine are pretty bombproof but both hate those clear bags you recycle garden waste in. Obviously due to the horse eating monsters that live in them after dark.

One horse i rode would walk past actual scary things fine, tractors, running cows, things in fences. Things he was scared of included His own shadow, regularly. Any hair that fell off whilst brushing or curry combing, hay caught in his stable wall whilst tied outside (reared up and snapped lead rope) And it once took me over an hour to get him to walk over a line in the school made by a pole when i'd dragged it out earlier after riding other horse. He spent the entire time rearing, spinning, running backwards and snorting his head off like it was going to kill him... IT WAS A LINE!? I dont think its too much to ask

Other horse previously mentioned was pretty good really but we passed a couple long reining horse on way out to woods (i was on her bareback and she was a giddy head at the best of times) but she was fine with this, as expected- its just a horse with 2 people behind. Half way round the woods a couple of mins after a canter we come across them again. This time they have changed into crazy horse killing machine since she had to spin, prance, wouldn't go past them and as the man kindly comented did an absolutely lovely backwards piaffe for about 10 feet.

I don't understand....

parked cars are always very scary they are ok as long as they are moving. anything that moves quickly such as mice straw getting blown away. blue rope. the invisible monsters. drains. wind just stupid things lol. yet shooting isnt scary nor are bouncy castles os plastic bags or buses. lol

The scariest thing we encounter is the stones that people put on grass verges to discourage people from parking on the verge. But they don't have to be stones - they could be short wooden posts too - as long as the purpose is to protect the verge, then we have to give them a very wide berth.
