Whats the stupidest thing you've read on facebook?

The stupidest thing I have seen on FB was a picture of a child (9/10 ish) holding a card which said something along the lines of 'If I get 1 million likes mummy says I can have a new kidney'. What stupid person told the child that FB would make a difference to whether a kidney becomes available?

Oh Christ, I forgot about those!!
'My mummy says she'll stop smoking for 1 million likes'
'My Daddy will buy me a pony if I get 1 million likes'

THEY SHOULD DO IT ANYWAY!!

I hate those too! Or the ones like "Like if you love your grandma, scroll past if you want her to die!" WHAT?!!

I've been told that people often do these '1 million likes for...' So that they can sell the page to a company who have a ready made following. Don't know how true that is though!

There's a horsey group that I read sometimes (can't bring myself to join it) where people call stables jails and say that bits and shoes are the work of the devil. It's lol but  at the same time.

I'm searching to find it. It's sickening, there's children on facebook and they can see all of this. A 'fashion' in Jan/Feb of this year was people 'doing' animals. That's when I refused to go on facebook for a while, come back, all that's gone and now it's teenagers messing with themselves

What has this world come to?!?

Good god! I've never seen anything like this on FB. I hope you are reporting them?

I think one of the worst posts I saw on Facebook was from a woman running a so called charity to rescue horses that when a pony had its hooves trimmed and was a little foot sore was baffled as to what was wrong with the pony and then seeking donations for a vets visit!!

on my local horsey fb group there is a girl who keeps asking owners selling youngsters if she can keep it on working livery at the local college. She is also asking if an unbacked 2 year old tb is suitable for a novice as she wants something her 10 year old sister and 4 year old brother can ride! she refuses to listen to anyone who politely suggests that an older, experienced pony may be best! she is then going round telling novices looking for a share that they can share the pony she doesn't even have yet!

other crackers include: 'wanted someones horse I can take to the county show', 'looking for a free or under £200 8yr old all rounder to do bsja' (as if!), 'my cob bucks me off whenever I ride bareback :(, I think he might hate me'.

Someone else is also trying to sell their horse with KS and denying all knowledge of the fact it has it, despite the fact that a week or 2 later she was posting asking for advice! She now says there was nothing wrong with the horse.

The intelligence levels of some people amaze me

Non-horsey:

On one of those pictures where someone adds text over to make a point - apparently £10m will pay the annual salary of about 545 nurses, Army personnel and firemen.

On my estates FB page "Does anyone know if the wheelie bins have been emptied this morning?"

Horsey:
"Are there no horses for sale, I have looked everywhere and I can't find one suitable" Turns out person in question pretty much wants a 3* Eventer for about £1500, but is not prepared to start from scratch.

"I need a saddle, not sure what size, but he is 4yrs, 16hh and a TB. Anything considered, but must be below £100 as he will grow out of it soon" An if you're lucky, might even grow into the saddle!!

"I have just bought a pony, but need nets, buckets, brushes and tack - help please, needs to be free or cheap" *Head Bang Head bang*

In regards the the porn images and vids - these are normally posited on the persons 'behalf' by companies or programs set to run in apps that might've been downloaded or sites that allow you to sync with FB. There is normally a very small mention on the agreement section that states that by completing the download or sync you agree to said app/site posting on your behalf and unfortunately can mean dodgy images.

All these.

Plus:
the same people, locally known to be a bit flighty, constantly spamming anyone who tries to loan out a horse.

People advertising the services of sub-par stallions with no performance history and awful photos, that are "exotic" breeds like "Pintabians" or something.

People wanting a horse to ride but they can't pay, and they can only do chores on a Wednesday afternoon when the moon is full, and the horse must be in walking distance of the town centre

Pretty much all of this!!!!!

People moaning about their lives, those stupid horse kids that say
'I'm 12 years old, i have cantered and jumped before and I want a full loan preferably a horse under 7 and not a plod/novices horse. I want something to bring on but must be for under £10 a month.' *adds picture of small child jumping a banged about riding school pony over a 1 inch cross pole with legs by their butt and 0 rein contact and looking at the horses withers'

Oh just scrolling down my feed and have just seen 'if 250,000 people join, my dad won't put my dog down'. Good God. There are worst ones though!!!

I remember the day after i lost my aunty to cancer, i scrolled down my feed (my way of dealing with things) and saw

'if you dont like this then it obviously means u support cancer and want people to suffer from it'

I threw my laptop over the other side of the room.

Not horsey but people who put status after status after status about their boyfriend while also writing writing gooey messages to each other on each others walls then each of them commenting on it

Am so tempted to write isn't that what PRIVATE messages are for?!

Seriously considering hitting the block/ unfriend button as think they are attention seeking.

Well I do have a mental age of 45 according to the test in soap box ;)

Oh and cannot stand "if you don't like this you are heartless" "if this can get x amount of likes" "if you don't pass this chain message on bad things will happen"

Go away I do not care! Wish I could filter these to hidden

I think we must be in same fb groups :p

I had advertised my horse, stating looking to see what sort of interest I would get, but he needs work schooling and hacking due to his previous loan home ruining him, and I got a girl asking if I could transport him, admittedly not far, but I stated hes a competition horse, if you dont have transport, then he wouldnt be suitable, she stated she was looking to buy a trailer, so continued with the how much experience do you have type questions. The response was: I have plenty of experience, looking for something to sj and be my best friend. not had a lot of experience competing but i have taught a horse who was 18 and managed to jump 1m and ride a 13yo who bucks and bolts a lot. I replied with hes probably not going to be suitable as he needs an experienced home to continue his career. She got back to me 2 weeks later asking if he was still availabe as she is getting her trailer soon and looking to compete at hickstead next year jumping 4'6'' jumps, but if hes not capable of jumping it she would jump lower. Head-Desk!! Argh!!

bexcy-bee x

People discussing sheath cleaning and someone attempting to be smart by asking if horses in the wild nip to the shop to buy sheath cleaner. How many geldings are in the wild love??? Stallions clean it rather erm, 'naturally'..
Nothing worse than someone attempting to ridicule others and making a right royal donkey out of themselves!

I don't see anything odd as a rule, apart from the usual drivel that the people who sit on it constantly post (sure we all have at least one 'friend' like that lol),like all the quotes and cliches etc.Not offensive but irritating at times.

One of mine is that if you still need lessons, you shouldn't be riding...um, what?!

This has cropped up before on the 'list of stupid things people say' and i never understand why people are surprised by it:confused:

To be fair if you weren't horsey wouldn't you think it was weird to still have lessons at something you know how to do? The shouldn't be riding bit is extreme I agree but the principle isn't that weird or stupid necessarily.

I would think it was weird in some circumstances like someone still having driving lessons when they already had a car and were driving it.Obviously in other way's it's not like my son has a guitar but is always learning, but can see it could be open to interpretation.

We know as horse people that it is to improve ourselves and have a goal etc (well not ourselves as I don't have lessons lol but know what I mean),but I can see why it would seem strange to non horse people.

Unless of course you were referring to horsey people that said it and then I take all that back and they're clearly idiots lol

Urgh. I had this said to me the other day.

Someone said to me "You don't need lessons, do you? I mean you can just make her go right without lessons, so why waste the money?".

So ignorant.

They were horsey D:
I mentioned I was (at the time) still technically a riding school rider and she said if I was still taking lessons, then I should just quit. Pft!

Stopthecavalry - your comment, had me giggling, does that mean if I don't feed my colts stud mix, they'll become geldings?
Moomin1 - most defo the support page, bless him, were all living in the past, he loved his children, it's all the haters and RSPCA's fault, he's lost his family, oh and now CID believe things have taken a sinister turn.......... Jezz, the story that just keeps going!

The worst thing I ever saw on Facebook was a girl called Giovanna eating her own tampon. There I was, minding my own business just browsing down my homepage, and this video * it wasn't named tampon eating or anything* popped up, being the gormless idiot I am I thought 'ooh it must be a singing vid' and clicked on it. Faith in humanity:-10000

Someone made a pic of this, with a Star Trek character swearing about it, I'll see if I can find it...!

..you also forgot 'must be bombproof in everyway and capable of carrying the whole family at once, and can you deliver it 4,000 miles away, by tomorrow please?

"I have just bought a pony, but need nets, buckets, brushes and tack - help please, needs to be free or cheap" *Head Bang Head bang*

You made an error, not 'cheap' - 'cheep' :p
