I have a very whimpy pointer who really feels the cold and not only shivers but chatters his teeth. On top of that, we've just moved house to an ancient old house without any proper insulation. Most of the house is ok but the kitchen that the dogs sleep in seems to get really cold - draughty old windows and one minute radiator. Anyway, my shivery old boy really needs some extra insulation and the dog coats I see advertised seem to offer waterproofness but not really warmth. He has a very deep chest so a nice deep cut coat would be good, and something comfortable because it will be to sleep in.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Equafleece! Brilliant coats and they do all sorts of shapes and sizes, my dog's coat is 10 years old and still going strong! Hotter dog is a slightly cheaper alternative.

i really rate the harpley equestrian ones - they are basically thermalux ;) do a great job at keeping my old spangle warm and also use them after they've worked to wick away wet :)

I have both equafleece and Forest Fleece coats and the Equafleece is thicker and longer lasting fabric...but the Forest Fleece do have some funky designs!!!:D Equafleece is fab for washing and drying quickly and although initally expensive the coat I had for my JRT has lasted 3 years and still going on strong.
