Trying to kill the vet if he produces a needle ..

Yep - I am having this drama with mine at the moment. He is the sweetest most gentle horse in the world 99% of the time....but the minute that vet comes near him with that needle a rearing devil horse appears!

Still not quite worked out how to conquer this vice yet...

Jack doesnt really have any and i consider myself lucky. He's 100% to do absolutly anything with except to clip. This doesnt really bother me though.. i rug quite early, his coat doesnt get excessive and we just carry on as normal with a bit more fluff.

His worse vice under saddle would be his spookyness. If something startles him, he runs. If he seems something that looks like it MIGHT scare him, he runs. He doesnt go far but hes damn quick with it and it can feel quite frightening.

Hes an angel to handle on the ground though which is just as well, because like Tia, i cant stand horses with vices. Would never have one as 99% of the time, they just p*ss me off and id never get along with the horse.

Lady had lots of vices when I first got her (she was a rescue case) now she has none in the stable and her only ridden vice these days is the occasional little buck when excited.
Fudge used to box walk, door kick and nap when I first got him, the worst thing he does now is shout at the top of his lungs when he's hacked/walked out in hand alone, he is sometimes spooky in the school but this is improving.
I wouldn't have a horse with something I consider a major vice that would have an impact of my horses health or our safety when riding although I have done in the past.

well if I ignore the cribbing, then sids would be the fact he has to roll before working on the lunge otherwise he is my perfect grumpy old man.... as for the youngster, again if I ignore the cribbing, it would be when she is in season she goes into lala land and either plants herself and wont move or pins you against a wall, however this is improving with the suppliment, as she seems a little more with it!

Apart from napping, my horse's worst habit is throwing everything i've just put in his manger (when I tack him up I put my hat, chaps, gloves, keys etc in there) and dumping it on the floor! The amount of times he has sent my hat flying across the yard, I've lost count!

Ginga swears/bites the air for england when being tacked or rugged up, Pip boofs people with his nose if they are by his stable and not paying him attention, Fred weaves at feed times and turning out times and if your not paying him as much attention as he would like , and Richard, at the moment pours the ground alot when tied up. Ajay bites when being lead, and Brook can be nibbly, but Teddy, Rory, Bobbie are all perfect, and the others are managable. We hope to sort Brook and Richard out as they are just being cheeky!

Weaving from one side of her 20ft stable to the other.lol. Eegit, she adopted this when she was on 4 months box rest for a fracture, she only does it when she's really stressed about something, and she does it really fast, I dont know if she'll ever stop it, but at least its not so often she does it these days.

Broke my heart when I first saw her do it, I'd had her for four years and she never ever had any vices before that.
