I know I have asked questions before about my lads hooves, but I found a "hole" between his white line and inner hoof wall/hoof wall. I have the farrier coming in 2 weeks but do you think I should ring and ask him to come sooner? Ponies not lame, not foot sore nothing I was junst picking his hooves out when I found a load of small stones stuck up in this hole.

Sorry pic's aren't the best did it quickly last night:-

Thanks so much for looking X

Prob where a stone has been pushed in (bit of gravel on tarmac, that sort of thing) and has dropped out now. Nothing to worry about if pony is happy and sound on it!

It looks like the hole is on the outer edge of the foot so should be ok- i would just keep clean etc and as you say pony ok too so should hopefully be fine!

Not sure if it's the same but my pony has a similar hole, farrier has told me he doesn't think it will go as it's caused by a defect in the hoof growth from the coronet.
He packs it each time he comes with cotton wool soaked in a strong antiseptic and hasn't caused any problems whatsoever yet.

If it is not smelly or painfull it should be OK, i would be tempted to pop a bit of Iodine in there for a few days just to make sure!

It does look like there is seperation so may be white line desease difficult to tell from a pic call your farrier out x
