My bay 3yo has a small 0.5cm x 0.5cm spot/scab (no heat/swelling or pain) where the hind muscle meets the tendon (skin is black). I noticed it in June when i knocked the scab off it when i was grooming him. It doesnt hurt him and hasn't grown bigger. Some black inky liquid came out of it, I squeezed it and bathed it but its still there. I tried to squeeze/hibiscrub it again yesterday and more inky fluid oozed out followed by a bit of blood. The black fluid stained my fingers, it doesn't have any smell. Do you think it could be melanin..
