Having only had Whisper for coming on to 7 months now I have noticed that I haven't a specific colour for her.

Some people don't do this but on my yard a lot of people seem too.

One lady has everything pink for her horse, others have gone particularly tasteful and have toned down ideas. Some have matching head collar/lead rope/ rugs/boots etc whereas others have an array of colours.

The only reason I ask is Whisper is dark bay and I have just ordered her a black rug with silver trim for traveling to shows/hunting/endurance in and now I am not sure if I should have been a bit braver and gone bold..

What colours have you gone for with your neddy? (and are you a mad one that has to have everything matching :D)

Mine's red. Read Thermatex hood and rug. Red headcollar. Red grooming kit. Red haynet. I don't use a red saddle cloth or girth though! Would be a bit too tacky at my age! :D

My boy has switched colours quite a few times :P

At first he was pink, then purple and now his colour is bright blue ^.^ - Not EVERYTHING matches, but I try to get everything in one colour (slightly OCD like that:p)

XC colours are hunter green and yellow :D

You can waste lots of time on this site choosing colours to suit :D

Doris has purple, Saffy has pink, Beau has green and Dooney has red.

It's all accidental though. I have never bought anything in a specific colour for any of them but it's just ended up that way.

I have a pair of almost-bright bay warmbloods and their/our colours are dark grey and orange. Cost limits EVERYTHING being matching, but slowly but surely we are getting there ;)

We've got nearly every colour rugs (am yet to find a yellow rug :D), we've got quite a bit of hot pink, our "posh" set (matching boots, numnah, ear cover and my coat) are navy blue, red and white which we wear out and about. We don't have anything plain really, I love colour and if it doesn't cost extra, I don't see the point of buying black everything :) he's bay with white socks and a blaze.

Quin has maroon/purple (tri coloured)
Jim has blue (black)
Gilbey has green (chestnut)
Justine has red (bay)
Schubert has black and white (black)

Our feed buckets and haynets are all colour co ordinated for ease of feeding as I mix ahead. They obviously all have different ammounts.

I'm trying to go for hunter green for my filly. So far have hunter green heacollar/leadrope/feed bucket. She's skewbald and think it quite suits her. She's only young so don't have much for her yet.

I tend to be quite a traditionalist when it comes to colours. I'm certainly not a fan of pink with horses, although for myself, I love pink.

All my horses wardrobes are forest green (dark green). I've a lot of navy blue rugs with red/white binding. I'm a huge fan of Newmarket rugs and if the colours were available in allsorts of options I'd probably go a bit OTT with that.

(how do you change the colour of your text and make things bold, I have seen this on a few posts and it confuses me how to do it)

To put something in bold you need [ b ] before the text and [ / b ] after it (but WITHOUT the spaces)

For italics you need [ i ] first and [ / i ] at the end (again WITHOUT the spaces).

Please don't change font though or have everything in bold, most people find it rather irritating (no offence to anyone who does so)

Clover has an array of things in all different colours, so I can cater for my being pathetic and loving pink but also have black things when we need to look smart and not like we're 10 :D

The colour of "it was on sale"

I am a skinflint, and I really don't care as long as does what it says on the tin, way too old and grumpy to want, or need, to impress anyone nowadays :o

Halters are mainly leather but I have the usual collection one gets when horses arrive with a freebie webbing one. Most lead lines are disgustingly pink because I buy 10 for $10 at the saddlery tent sales twice a year.

Rugs - quite a revolting collection, yellow, gold, orange, copper, purple, pink, red, green, blue, grey, some plaid, a couple are horribly garish - all the ones that are no longer cool and trendy, if I can get them for $50 as opposed to $200 then that's good for me.:)

Saddle pad, baby blue :( - yep, on sale again, it goes on everything.

No colour really- when we had 2 horses/ did PC camp we did tend to colour code for ease of identification, but now we only have one horse he's got the rainbow. Mostly blue/black/brown as then it can be used for smart stuff as well...

no colours for me really. I used to when I was a kid though.

I have quite a few horses and it wouldnt be realistic to have specific colours for each, too much faffing. Plus things are shared between horses things fit.
Buckets are just buckets. I mostly have them in green or blue because thats what was in the shop etc. I have names on them so horses get the right feeds, and coloured tape on some handles for easy recognition.

Id like to have all matching travel gear for the horses, hunter green probably, or navy, but mostly I use what Ive got. As and when I need to replace things I will get the green or navy.

So if we ever do get all colour coded and matchy matchy it will be my colours rather that an individual horses colour.

Some things ARE colour coded though. I got a load of headcollars and ropes in the summer, and pony size are grey, cob size are navy, and full size are green. Just so I can pick up a headcollar without thinking too much about what size it is.

I like practical colours, ones that don't show the dirt and don't need much co-ordination. Mainly because things not matching correctly would annoy me.

Some of my stuff came with the horse though so no choice, hence the lilac travel boots!

Most of my rugs are navy, although I have several fleeces in different colours, a burgundy check stable rug and a purple turn out.

I have numnahs and saddle cloths in black or brown. Girth is black although I want a brown one to go with my brown saddle cloths that I am using more now.

Horse's boots are black, easy to match and also match her legs.

Have a leather headcollar for best, a purple nylon one for every day, (matched her turnout rug at the time and was on sale) and a pink one that came with her that is our spare.
