What's your dream job?

I have my dream job - A nurse. I've spent the last 18 months working with the wounded troops and it's been AMAZING and I feel very privilidged to have done it. I have another even more wonderful opportunity lined up and so feel like the luckiest person in the world! My work defines me and though it's not hugely paid, it doesn't matter, I can't imagine doing anything else.

Work as a pharmacist, don't really enjoy it but can't really afford to leave at the moment :-/

Think I'd like to do something horse racing related but being hands on with the horses doesn't really pay that well. Something like a stud secretary might be good.

Hopefully halfway through achieving mine= a professional Historian/Academic although the rate of job cuts in HE means there is little chance of this  In my dreamworld, where I win the lottery/marry somebody rich/become Simon Schama and can retire early (delete as least likely  ) I would like a rescue sanctuary for horses; hopefully rehabilitate them and let disadvantaged people ride and care for them :)

I wanted to be a vet 100% since I was 2 (I'm now 22).
I'm now in my 3rd year of university - Bioveterinary Science and quite liking it. I've found a real passion in Veterinary Parasitology and Animal/Equine Disease, so my ideal career would be either researching into new and upcoming diseases/parasites or working diagnosing diseases etc from blood smears, skin scrapes etc.
I would love to do some quite obscure work experience before I find a job too!

Lisamd... You pretty much have my dream job!

I would have loved to work with horses but after a stint rifling on a stud, then a SJ and racing yard I realised looking after other peoples horses wasnt what I wanted.

I now work in PR/marketing in the public sector, but also work as a freelance photographer and copywriter. I write a blog for Lancashire life magazine ( google Sarah forrest Lancashire life) and work as a photographer at BE events (working for someone else) and my proudest moment was when i had photos from Aske and skipton HTs published in H&H magazine :-)

I also have my own website www.wix.com/imagineequine/home)

I have had various freelance writing jobs, the most fun being a blog for Pony magazine last Christmas ( in association with ranch riders) where I was a horse called Hondo!

My dream job would be writing and taking photos full time for a horse magazine!

I would love to be a full time dressage rider / judge / producer etc. I am not afraid of hard work, but unfortunately (!) I was brought up in a rich family, and I do not want to be poor. I want to be able to afford a nice car, holidays, horses, lorries, a barn conversion, blingy tack and shopping all the time :D
I have been soul searching for the last 3 years, and now drawing to the end of my uni years. So now do I go for the horses and be poor, or get a job im qualified for, work for the family company and be rich? I just dont know, someone tell me what to do :D

I work to finance my life - but enjoy my job too :D I dont want to work with horses - I enjoy spending time away from the cold, wet and mud and with non horsey people

I pretty much hate my job, very unrewarding, I clock watch all the time, I am truly fed up. I work as International Purchasing Manager for a Ink Manufacturing/Recycling company and have had great success so I am now branching into Sales which I HATE!! I dont think any job would be my dream job as not working would make me very happy. But I would love to feel more interested in the industry so Purchasing in an equestrian related industry would be as close as it gets. Please someone offer me a job doing that! I am on crap money now so would come very cheap!! :D

I dont have a dream job other than to have a job which I enjoy which pays super well (I'm yet to find it!). At the end of the day I dislike working my butt off for someone else to reap the rewards.

By choice, I would be a lady of leisure. My OH would make all the dosh and I'd just spend it! No, thats not entirely true, I'd love to play ponies all day - would love to buy in ponies and turn them into competition neds, I adore bringing on youngsters as its so fulfilling so if I could do that and sell them on to PC homes that would keep me amused. There seems to be a gap of people selling a selection of decent ponies, its always horses or show type ponies. Alongside this, I'd have a couple of horses who I'd event on a wider level (currently I can't afford to go above 1*, would love to go 2* - I know I'm never destined for Badminton). Would also love to design stuff, I'm always thinking up horsey inventions but with no cash to do anything with them :(

dressagelove - Ha ha, you made me laugh with the "I come from a rich family, but dont want to be poor"! How nice that must be! I kinda understand though, I come from a middle class family, not "rich" like millionaires by any means but perfectly comfortable and I never wanted for anything. But now I'm on my own two feet it sucks! You get used to that so its a real shock once you have your own mortgage and realise how expensive stuff is. I'm still in shock since I bought my own house 2 years ago! We have no family business unlike you though, I'd find that opportunity amazing to just fall into that so easily and be assured a good life and still be able to have your horses, know what I'd choose!

I work in Admin (boring!!!)

If I could I would love my own yard and take in neglected/ unwanted horses and rehab them and find them new homes. I would love doing that, I know there would be hard times but I think you would feel such a sense of achievement, and enjoy doing something I love doing!!!

Plus be better off being outside than stuck to my computer screen all day - yawn!!!

I am still on my gap year... this will be year 7!!

No I do have a brilliant job - have done very well to get where I am particularly at my age. I literally fell into my job! I was temping on reception when PA to the VP came up and I applied - having my PA experience. The VP was a pervy dutch man, I clearly caught his eye - job bagged! I have been here 5 years, Pervy VP has left and I have the best boss now anyone could ask for. I organise international events all around the world for a huge global company... or I did until our event budget was massively cut!

Ideally I would like to work 9.30 - 2.30 then I could ride everyday and not have to worry about daylight!!

love your website and photos, but a spell check needed.

I'd love to be a comic book artist. I have my idea, characters and story...but my PC is old and slow. It couldn't handle hundreds of massive pages. Perhaps I'll start it when I get some money for a new PC.
It's got a big following so far, I get asked almost every day about new characters and when it'll start, have I thought any more about story line :P

Here's some teaser concept art..

Oooh thanks :-) Can you tell this is a work in progress - stupidly hadn't spell-checked as I hadn't 'gone live' with it yet! That'll teach me.

I have just been through it but please let me know if you spot anything
