Arabs I do endurance, they are the perfect partner. When centuries of breeding's gone into making them a long distance machine, why fight it? lol That said, it's not these modern halter types that attract me, I like the old fashioned riding Arab, complete with rump
I just love the poper 'old school' british breeds!
Mainly Cleveland bays and Connies, but also a v big soft spot for ID and fell ponies. Can't wait until I have my own land and I can have my very own mixed up herd!! (kids will be an excellent excuse to get a fell pony for me to pinch!) Love the personality, intelligence and sensitivity of tbs (esp the fab old chaser types), but I wouldn't want to own one as I prefer types that are easier to keep and enjoy living out more. It would be just my luck to wind up with a wimpy one instead of a good tough sort!
I love Arabs..they are so so beautiful...my boy is perfect.
He is so good-natured, quick to learn, and always willing to please....
I wanted to ride this morning but the weather was so so bad....and haven't got all my autumn wet weathr gear sorted properly...got to get me some new boots!!!
Flamehead - Read your post yesterday and thought you didn't like Friesians. Must have mis-read it. I have always wanted a Friesian since I was small and at 57 am now the proud owner of one. They can be buggers, but they are pretty sensitive high energy horses so can be a bit highly strung. One lady on yesterdays post said they were barge horses. Not sure what she meant by that. Barney is the most handsome of men though. If my husband was as good looking, Brad Pitt would have to watch out.
