I've just watched Black Beauty again because there's nothing on the telly and I've watched everything on H&C TV, and again I've found myself blubbering when Ginger died and the cart was being led away, and when Joe found him again in the horse sales. Anyone else have a favourite horsey film they watch over and over?

Agreed! and I cry in exactly the same places! and also when Black Beauty is remenising at the end!

Favourite scens though, Tomb raider when Angelina Jolie is riding a friesan stallion side saddle and shooting! The new Tim Burton Alice in wonderland at the end when the White queen rides in to battle, also side saddle!

Can't wait for them to film War Horse, although that is going to be a real tear jerker!

I love Black Beauty!

Not really a horsey film, but the horse/pegasus in Clash of the Titans and Shadowfax in LOTR are stunning!

I think Horse Whisperer is going to be a given. I used to love Palomino, based on the book, ever since then I wanted one.

I can't think of any off the top of my head now. :/

Ditto Lady Hawke!

I love the old "Adventures of Black Beauty" series. It was on TV in the 70's but you can now get it on DVD. A real wallow in nostalgia. And I love the way Beauty always saves the day!

No-one has mentioned Dreamer yet.

Mine has got to be Champions. Not all about horses but about the recovery of Bob Champion when he had cancer, and Aldiniti who he rode in The Grand National.

I LOVE The black Stallion. just LOVE it!!! I also have the black stallion returns. Seabiscuit, Goodness knows how many versions of black beauty. Like national velvet and International velvet.
The horse whisperer is ok. But they could focus more on the rebonding with horse not the moms messes up love life hee hee
I googled horse films a while back then attempted to download as many as I could.
If it has horses in it I most prob will like it and sit crying at it :o

Ooh Flika and downloaded Ruffian also but havent watched it yet So many horses so little time ;)

I love Spirit, my shire Basil and our farrier had a similar relationship to the one in the film.

The fresian in Ladyhawke is to die for. Seabiscuit is brilliant but my favorite is Hidalgo, Viggo Mortensen and horses what's not to like?!

The white horse? About the lipizzaners in WW2 such a tearjerker and love Champions!! The irish film about Edward O Gradys betting coup is also very good!!( Cant remember the name)
