Whats your favourite Horsey film?

International Velvet, Horse Whisperer (only loosely a horsey film I suppose: much more about the characters than Pilgrim) and Black Beauty. I like Seabiscuit, but those fake shots where they're on simulated race horses with that poor fake fur covering drive me nuts!
 
The Black Stallion. I think the scenes on the beach are stunning.
I also love International Velvet although the tiny jumps in the cross country at the Olympics always make me laugh!
 
 
I watched International Velvet on Youtube recently, but I can't remember the link I found. I love that film. Also loved National Velvet. I haven't seen My Friend Flika for years and feel a re-watch is in order.

Also loved Misty, Racing Stripes, Seabiscuit, The Black Stallion & Black Stallion Returns, Virginia's Run.

I've never heard of Red Fire Lady, I will look forward to searching for that one.
There was a good one I watched about Quarter Horse racing but I can't remember the name
 
Into the West....if you haven't seen it would highly recommend, set in Ireland and very funny and very sad too.....

National Velvet and of course Black Beauty (the original series...not the dodgy film with the horse as the narrator and the bloke from Emmerdale...well dodgy that one!!)
 
Yes u are right its Blue Fire Lady. I loved it when I was younger but can't remember much about it - probably rubbish now!

Also another film which was about one of the queens drummer horses. Anyone?
 
Black Beauty for me, also love young black stallion, and another old movie but I can't remember the name, its about a horse who's injured and ends up running in the national with a young girl riding and she falls off after the winning post, think the girl is a young Elizabeth Taylor.......is it black velvet???? Anyway, I really liked it whatever its called x

I saw it [again] not that long ago, it's not aged well, but it's still watchable enough!

I think that might be called Cicero, at least I remember watching a movie about a Drum Horse called Cicero and how he became a Drum Horse, Todd Carty was in it IIRC...
 
The Man From Snowy River was good, fantastic round up scenes; that's Australian)
Rounders with Henry Fonda and Glenn Ford about two rodeo cowboys that get lumbered with a roan horse. Very moving but funny too.
I love the music from Champions; a fair few friends and their horses were used as extras in that.
