what's your horse really scared of ??

Bentley cannot stand me using the hose on the overhead boom in the wash area - any hose running along the floor is fine and I could practically throw a bucket of water at him- apparently the boom (that none of the others even notice  ) is going to eat him.

That said he is 100% with the 200+ wheelie bins across the nearby field (carboot site) and with remote control cars, banger racing and even 30ft flames on a bonfire every weekend (blinkin' neighbours ) - so I suppose I shouldn't complain :D

Megs biggest fear is cement mixers... its the only thing she will whip round at and try to piss off in the other direction shaking with fear!
Other than that really rattley trailers coming up behind her, and patches of earth or a leaf upside down!!

wild rubarb and tree stumps.... if we're hacking and he see's either he spins and launches off in th opposite direction. The other day i had to dismount to lead him past some wild rubarb because there was a patch on both sides of the road....wierdo.

Fany is not really scared of anything, although she does look askance at an empty food bucket.:D

Captain it depends on his mood, if he is that way out he will be terrified of everything, other times he is not scared of anything. He will shy at a bin one day and be fine the next!

Spanner - Nothing in particular. She's pretty laid back.
Ballet - hoses, not the water, just the hose. And electric fencing (She put her mouth on the mains when she was 7)

Mine isn't really scared of many things, but he looks at things. Signs, drain covers, lines on the road, tree stumps etc. But he rarely spooks. The only time I remembering him spooking really is at a box. Which was just funny.

What he is actually scared of is low doorways and thin doorways. He has scars behind his ears so is very protective of them. And he's a big boy so rather unsure about these things.

Nothing that i can think of really, oh perhaps the odd funny shaped leaf. She will go past men felling trees, have a pheasant fly past her nose and then spook at bog all. funny old bird that she is lol

Most scary things seem not to bother him, farm traffic, wheelie bin men, plastic bags etc etc. But if we're out on a hack and we see a person walking in the distance.... OH MY GOD, horse will jump a mile and then refuse to move without alot of encouragement!!!

My new horse seems to be frightened of most things but mainly bikes! Going to start riding one round the yard to get him used to it!! Im an evil mummy:o

OMG, Shy really lived up to his name today !

First it was the barley field "waving angrily" at him. Then it was the gate that had an ogre behind it - honest, it was huge, and involved three bolts thru said barley field, then there was the huge heap of cow dung - good god, who dared put THAT there ? Until he realised it was s*** and then had to have a good sniff of it. Then a man in a BASEBALL cap was in front of us, ye gods !!! All the while calling and generally behaving like a stallion.

And the icing on the cake ? When he got home, he had to have a cold shower. Oh the shame of being washed down in front of the the shetland who was sniggering up his feathers. . He was mortified, trying to prance while I washed him down.

Poor Shy, it was such a trauma today. I bloody loved it :D sm x
