so many but probably on 29th June 2010 when I was able to get back on Kelly again after 5 months of box rest and walking due to a severe bout of laminitis the vets told us they weren't sure what could be done...she cantered ridden today for the first time in forever!

Riding into the ring at Stoneleigh to receive our prize after becoming Reserve Champs in the Trailblazers finals, and hearing someone say, "Isnt that the girl who always used to fall off? How did she learn to ride so well?" Chuffed me up no end that did
With Charlie it is probably the one time I managed to take him cubbing, he was a nightmare for the first hour and I was about to give up but then he settled and acted like the perfect hunter (Shame it's never happened since ) 2nd to that has got to be when I managed to take him XC schooling for the first time, he's difficult to load and is always a nightmare when we take him somewhere but that day he acted as if we were at home and I had a fab day
Millie has made me proud so many times over the last 18 months that I really struggle to pick my proudest moment. At times I have been close to tears as I couldn't believe how willing she has been.
I guess top of the list would be how she took to hunting like a duck to water
and the time we went XC schooling and she quite happily pinged anything she was pointed at
Been several:
Possibly the day I managed to finally hack out with my pony on my own for the first time after spending over a year only hacking out with others due to his napping (see other post about worse moment!).
And then also coming 6th in only our second 1ft 9 inches jumping class with 4 faults.
And having the confidence to go to riding club camp 2 years running!
I WILL NEVER FORGET MINE
I took a rescue horse on who was booked into the local slaughter house, I saw him feel in love and gave him 500 for a 16.2 stunning ex racer. He was ment to be a nutter and everybody warned me about this horse so my first day out hunting was the best day ever ESP as it was the hunts master who was going to shot him. The drop off the jaw said it all. Me and my lad was ment to find each other I love him to bits
With my Appaloosa probably the fact that we have such a great partnership and the fact that I know him so well I feel I can trust him 100%. With my youngster, it has to be winning our Dressage Class last weekend. He is a cob and we were against some flashy looking horses. I'm pleased that all of my hard work is finally paying off!
I've had my 7 yo French Trotter since he was 4. He acts like he was born to hunt. He loves the hounds, pricks his ears and watches them keenly. He stands for me to mount and do gates, he stands at the meet (can be rather fidgety at other times due to general excitement), never stops galloping or jumping, and never pulls bucks or rears. We always have such fun, he makes me hugely proud
Moggyinmanolos, I just love that photo - your pride shines out. Just gorgeous
I have a few, one is over coming the leading issues one horse had. He was a saint as soon as he was tacked up but trying to lead him at any other time nearly resulted in me having my forhead split open on several occasions, and I always had to have two people leading him just to keep his feet on the floor. After having someone in to help me work on him the day I finally managed to walk him up the field on a loose rein, I just stood there and cried, the poor guy looked at me bemused but it had taken 2 years to get to that point.
Another was a rescue pony I took on from an animal shelter. He hadnt been handled in over 2 years so no one could get near him. After 3 months of trying to gain his trust (which hadnt worked) I was stood in the field the one day watchin the above horse being worked, when he walked up behind me and put his head through my arm, after that day he wouldnt leave my side. He finally realised that I wasnt going to hurt him.
And my most recent involves making the tough decision to sell my horse as I belived I could no longer give him what he needed. After a long and difficult time he was finally sold, but came back less than 24 hours later as apparently he turned into a raving psycho. He hadnt they just over faced him without getting to know him or take the time to get him back into work properly. Anyway I digress! Before he was sold we had gone so far backwards with out riding, I could barely get him to do anything and we could barely get over a 6 inch cross pole without it being a major issue or without me falling off, last weekend, after him being back just over two months, we did mini course of 2'6" and finishing off popping a jump that was almost 2'9". I could have cried, I never imagined that we would get back to that after what had happened!
Jasmine was very overweight when i got her, and her mane and tail in a right state, i had to take her on rides, to get her fit, this was our first show and although we came 4th, i was very pleased how far she had come
mine was when we won our 2nd ever hunter trial...after everyone had said to me that I was mad for buying "that nutter". also everytime he puts so much trust in me, when I know how terrified he was when I first got him.
When a top rider was the ride judge & gave my horse back to me saying " someone's done a good job with this". The horse I had bred, broken, schooled & produced/competed myself.
There have been so many moments really, from getting Pharaoh to actually be happy round humans, to jumping a ''crazy'' horse without it going mad, to getting the pony i've been riding to happily trot over poles, but the moment that sticks in my head the most is this...
It was the first time I had ridden Pharaoh without being bucked off 2 seconds later! Without the bloke in the picture I probably wouldnt have Pharaoh so I owe it all to him really!!
With larry it was when i won the 95cm Shires championships in 2009 won £120 vouchers all so came 3rd that day I won 2 Jackets 2 numnahs 2 rugs and somethink i have always wanted a SASH :0) had a fab day and i will never for get it and was in are local all horse magaine !!
With Thomas it was when Thomas and my sister Q for the RIHS for the second time at stafford county and Louise Bell rode him!! But sadly he never made it there cause he fractured his shoulder :0(
Piper the best is yet to come only had his 2 months lol
