19yr old nameless unclipped TB - wears an Arion combo with a fleece under it at night....cruelly abandoned in the ice out 24/7.
3yr old nameless Shire x TB - wears a MW with a hood...as does 2yr old nameless TB x Bavarian......all left out in the ice by their uncaring owner (me)

My TB who is a good doer ( an oxymoron (sp) I know
) is out in the day with a summer rug to keep him clean and in at night rugless as he needs to lose weight
My old boy, Welsh x (26) has been out today in his full neck 360grm (is that right!) and is still in it tonight in his stable (lazy or pratical .... but I did not have the heart to take it off
)
Neither are clipped at the moment, but when my TB is clipped he will be rugged 24/7 and I have just brought a heavier rug for my old boy
Unclipped highland mare - lightweight outdoor rug, no neck, just to keep any rain off her. Medium weight stable rug
Clipped highland gelding - a fleece and medium outdoor rug, no neck, at night a fleece and a heavy weight stable rug.
Fat hairy cob, only clipping his legs out at mo and tonight he is wearing MW Mark Todd......Yep this cob really feels the cold, anything lighter on and he would feel cold....during the day MW turnout's Weatherbeeter,Yep he feels the cold out in the field...Pathetic really!
My Welshie is in his Weatherbeeta MW no neck during the day and MW WB no neck when in at night! He was in a light weight stable rug but was a bit on the cool side underneath it, so I bought him a nice new MW today! He is un-clipped.
Maiden is out with only a generous layering of fat, fluff and mud to keep her warm. All mine had frost on their manes and tips of their ears this morning!
Olympic (Duch warm blood) is fully clipped (bar an oval shaped saddle patch) and in this cold weather he has: A really camp looking blue hood (covers shoulders neck and face) with sheep on
, a lightweight combo under rug, a masta duvet and a Rhino high neck rug so he's lovely and toasty
Missy (ISH) has a cipped coat which has pretty much grown bac and she's got the same under rug combo as Olympic, a single duvet (which doesn't cover much but it keeps her back warm) and a Rhino high neck stable.
My chap, IDx TB but more TB, has a hunter clip and he's wearing a lw rug with a heavy weight Fal rug on top of that then another HW rug with neck cover on top of that.....and no he's not molly coddled (much
!!), he's a bit of a freezer.
In the field he wears a MW rhino wug with a HW Taka with neck cover on top!! If he gets cold he's a b*st*rd to catch
!!!
Even tho he wears all these rugs I've never had a problem with him breaking out thro being too hot, he just seems to stay toastie warm!!!
New, slightly underweight, stabled TB is due to be clipped tomorow & will be wearing a WB under-rug, fleece & a lightweight WB stable rug on top. If its a warmish night I usually take 1 of them off.
All mine live out. My little darties are only rugged in the wet, they have 2 inch coats to protect them from the cold! My section d isn't clipped but doesn't get the longest of coats so is changing between his mw and hw rug in this cold snap as it's very rural so v v cold, but off in the day as long as it's sunny as it's also a sun trap. He get's too hot when the suns out with rugs on! I'm not really one to mollycoddle but it is niceto wrap him up warm when it's like this, and he deff appreciates it!
