Hi,

Have a friend at my stables with a "poor Doer" TB.

She is currently feeding him approx 2 scoops of Wheat Bran split between 2 feed alongside Dengie Hi Fi with Apple, sugarbeet and a balancer.

Her horse has gained condition but is this an ideal diet for him? He is fed this with adlib hay and haylage mix.

Im not knowledgeable on straughts so have no idea but have found a few articles which advise against feeding Wheat Bran.

Thanks

wheat bran is a debatable issue.
u can get really good quality bran but it needs to b from a really good source.
it can help with digeston but shouldnt b fed in large quantity as it puts phos;calcium ratio wrong. feeding with alfa a and sugar beet can relevel this.
but i would say 2 scoops is excessive it can cause nervousness if too high levels fed.
