Our two are normally angels - never a problem. I read other people's posts and think poor you, bet you wished you had our big angels in a smug manner.

I worked yesterday, so OH had care of them. He exercised and then left them in the school for a mutual groom and some no rug time whilst doing jobs before turning out.

As he took down the electric strip - we have in this in the school to stop them climbing the shavings stack, naughty Farra Clydesdale walked to the gate, pushed on it and trotted off out the yard. Stinky thought he was being deserted so galloped flat out from end of school, past OH, over wheelbarrow, scattering LWP everywhere and off to Farra.

Poor OH went to get them from the patch of grass - normally they would stand and be caught, but they took one look and turned from angels to devils. It might have been his hi viz jacket. They proceeded to gallop into next door's yard, several laps of that, with their horses screaming blue murder. Stinky then goes into their school with the galloping lump following him.

Well, one good thing, now I know for sure my boy has talent. From a near standstill he jumped a 4' fence out of school and into the field and now is galloping round screaming for his "sister" like a headless chicken. Farra is still in the school doing an amazing turn of speed, yelling back. Next door's horses are now really letting rip as these invaders in their yard.

Now OH is worried that his lump is going to try to jump out or go through and destroy the fence - nothing like a clydesdale for a demolition derby.

At this point, owner of other yard appears, thankfully laughing at seeing the naughty hairies and impressed at Stinky's jumping. They managed to catch Farra, though she did the most amazing rear first (looked amazing apparently) and then Stinky came over to the gate.

Seriously peed off OH - he would have sold them on the spot he said.

Two hours later and a good mug of tea and he did admit how impressive Farra looked flying along and he does love her really - still not sure about "dog food Stinker" though.

They went to the field like plods and looked very tired and back to angels.

Need it be said...... I am doing them tonight and OH is going out with his mate.

Well, at least you have your angels back now, maybe they were bored of being angles so turned, realised it was too much hard work and will be dreams from now on in. Great story though. Have fun tonight!!

Forgot to mention, outside the school was parked OH's beloved Buell motorcycle, had they taken that out, then I would be posting a "how much" for Stinky post

Lmao - great story, glad everyone was in one piece and OH has forgiven them, nearly

Reminds me of the day that my 'angel' broke free when spooked by the hosepipe. I thought to myself 'oh he will only go as far as the grass..' but no, he went trotting off up the track, out of the farm driveway just at the exact second the farmer was herding his sheep in. Pony went the opposite way down the lane and the sheep followed him

Just at that point an old man was walking down the lane to find a pony and 30 sheep coming towards him.. pony stopped next to him and begged for a treat as I threaded my way through the sheep to grab him

Highly embarrassing, farmer was always commenting up to that point how well behaved my ponies were

And yes, he looked fantastic as he trotted out the gate

Hee hee! I think its a case of when the halos slip they slip BIG time!
I can only imagine how many new words the pair of them have learnt during their brief "moment".
the speed these big boys and girls can get up is astounding. When we came to let ours all out after the white stuff finally went i was somewhat worried. Walked Hovis out of the stable - he was right as rain. Walked him up the lane - walked like a lamb. Took him into the field - stood like a rock. Took his headcollar off - he stood gently nuzzling me. Cue me looking smugly at my YO who had just witnessed most of his liveries being dragged down the lane. Cue Hovis turning on his heels fly bucking down the field covering me in mud from head to foot...........

You soooo right - when you have angels (99.9% of the time) when they turn into devils you are left in shock.

I still wonder if it was his bike jacket that started them off - but really they have seen it many times before, or the fact that when mums away, devils can play

They had been so good the day before, we let two very novice riders have a go on them and they went round looking after them and gave them a fantastic time - like perfect school masters.

Farra can scoop mud like a mole on speed - I have made a mental note, never to be behind her when riding out for some fast fun.

Wished I had seen her on her hind legs and lifting her legs up and dragon snorting though. Andy said Cairo would have been proud of her - a most magnificant clydesdale.

He he. We've got two angels- well most of the time! They were just having a thoroughbred moment! My friends TBs are like that everyday, I couldn't cope with it. I never believed my husband that his massive cob could buck until I saw her galloping and bucking in the snow!!!!
