No only clip his legs so far......but this year might go futher up the body and give him a blanket which I will do about October time.....TBH this year is going to be confusing with the Summer we have had so far.....what will winter be like!
Probably mid-September to keep tidy for last few events and then she'll have her holiday at end of eventing season and then will be clipped again when she comes back into work.
Soon, very soon, she is getting pretty hairy and she doesn't like getting hot and sweaty, she's a welshie type and she's been moulting for about a fortnight now, so clipping is just round the corner for her, I always have to clip her before mid september, and then again around December.
When he's furry!! I'm rugging to try to delay it. First clip is usually 1st week in Oct, 2nd is in Jan, then I try to last til moulting time!! Clipped out apart from legs. I usually have my old mare who has Cushings clipped in the summer but haven't bothered this year as the weather has been pants & she's fluffy rather than woolly.
Oh heck another subject I know nothing about! I've never clipped a horse in my life! I'm hoping to get away with a bib or maybe trace clip and he'll be done when he is hairy and I can get someone to do it for me!!
Full clip as I cannot be bothered with lines etc and normally do it when the most of ther full coat has come through. But it always depends on the temp as last year it stayed quite mild so I clipped early. This year I think we're in for a cold one so prob will try and leaving clipping for as late as pos and then I dont have to do too many clips
solo gets clipped at the beginning of october, when he usually comes in. however, he may come in earlier. he has a blanket clip.
red will be clipped when he comes in, he came in on bonfire night last year. he will probably have a chase clip- but this may change as we dont know what hes like to clip.
