Like the title says whats more important.
I'm looking at a yard tomorrow with better facilities but its nearly 9miles away and my current yards is a mile or so up the road but has no school (at the moment)
what would you choose. The yard I am at currently is cheaper as can use ownhay/straw etc but relie on other liveries for assistance. where as the other yard is riding school/livery with on site YO who offers assistance but is futher (and more money) but I could start riding again straight away as all weather arena.
Please help!

Facilities over distance for me every time... I have a yard literally 2mins walk from my house-it would be SO easy, and cheap, to keep my boy there... but I'd never ride- hacking is appaling, no school, no electric, it's 110% DIY, no staff, no help, not even any hardstanding/yard etc etc.

I'd much prefer to have to drive anything up to 40mins to get to my horse knowing that there was a school, sensible hacking, staff on site etc etc.

how far do you travel to your yard? Still weighing up pros and cons. its a tough one! its so hard to find the perfect home for your horses. just want everything right for them but to make life as easy as possible for me.

I have a 40 mile round trip to my horse,...it's not good on petrol at all, but the facilities and all year turnout are a must for me and that's why i grin and bear it...it's for my horse's health (and my sanity knowing he's in a decent place!) that i make the trip..

I Left a yard that was 5 mins away from me.

Facilities. I have a yard practically at the end of my road, crap hacking poor facilities and reputation. I travel 12 miles each way to see my horse!
