When did you know you were ready for a young horse?

thats what i would do also join Highland Pony Talk forum as you can see if anyone knows of anything in your budget. I only wanted to spend 2k on my new girl but realised no chance in getting what i wanted. Worth keeping a look out as well also go onto highland pony society website as they have adverts up all the time. I know there was a loan horse couldnt jump anymore but perfect in every other way.

My cheque is in the post for the Enthusiasts Society, lol! I'll just keep saving and hope for the best - we really just want a family pony the kids can have fun on at PC camp and that will still be comfortable carrying my weight.

SO1 - that is REALLY impressive, I know how competitive showing is - I'm in awe! :)

Bigfathen - ta, I'm going to have a look!

FionaMc - my first horse was broken by a 14 year old and she was the nicest animal you could wish to meet. Thanks for the positive comments.

If i hear of anything thats in your range will let you know can ask around for you off to Bath and West with my youngster on friday aiming to do well as came 2nd at Devon county with her 2 weeks ago. So there will be people around i can ask if they know of anything. Dont give up on your dream!

It is not really that impressive - I just lucked out and got a nice pony no skill on my behalf involved at all!

It will be the end of September before I have 3000 saved but I'll PM you then. The very best of luck on Friday - I'm hoping to take the kids on friday but we have to wait and see if we have the numbers 'cause we need a lift. PM me if you want me to pass a message on to Ann. I'll let go of the idea of having my own horse this year as I don't want to give up on the dream of a Highland just yet!

I dunno - I've heard stories of how hair raisingly competitive showing is, so I think that's a bit of an achievement!

Def try to go on friday as all the highland classes are on! And they are not on too early in the day as well unlike Devon couldnt believe it was at 8am had to leave at 5am to get down in time.

Lol yep just pm me when you want one and can ask around for you will still keep a eye out as you never know a lot of the highland people seem to care more about a good home than the money. Plan to ring Ann to see if she needs an help on a monday just need to find what i did with her number now.
