I seem to be making a habit of it lately. Swapped horses in the school with a mate tonight. Her mare was fresh but ok. Popped her over a 2ft jump and she bolted, head down bronc style! Really thought she was going to attempt to jump the gate so instead of turning her I panicked and tried to pull her up. Needless to say I was catapulted through the air, did a really impressive 180 degree rotation and landed on bum smacking head into ground. Luckily it was boggy but the mare was in full flight and trod on my leg! OUCH. Got up and got on again, didn't feel too bad but now my leg is so sore! Got on my Fly but he knew my heart wasn't in it so ran out a couple of times due to my ineffective riding. All in all a bit of a crap schooling session!

oh dear hope you feel better soon! i fell off last week, mare decided had had enough schooling in the wind and threw a massive spook, was first time since i was a kid so quite a shock! sounds liek you had a bad day!

Touching wood, last September if I remember rightly out XC training, landed on my head and broke my hat

The last time i fell off was on Sunday 15th of October 2006, i managed to break my wrist, get a lovely shiny black eye and a few cuts and bruises. My horse decided it was a good idea to perform a series of acrobatic manouvres that day and then leave the arena at speed. Hehe!!

Thankfully ive managed to remain in the plate since then!! lol!!

The last time I came off was 1st June 2003, it was Cassy's 6th birthday and we got trapped in a closing gate. Thankfully the spike on the gate went into my boot and not her side! I landed in a nest of truely vibrant stinging nettles

Yesterday, I was just jollying along in canter, not really concentrating, and she spooked right, then scared herself and spooked left....... i fell out of the side door. It was all very un-dramatic though

We were jumping a 2 foot jump and I err... took off before he did <blush>

Bless him, he stopped straight away and looked very confused!

July 2006.
Jake tripped whilst trotting along a bridleway - he did a forward roll and managed to squash my leg between him and the only stone on the grassy track where he tripped! Results - one badly dented leg - luckily not broken but still dented to this day! Jake was absolutely fine.

3 weeks ago! stupid pony in paddock with me spookedand bolted a fraction of a second before cara spooked which made cara think there was a yetti in the hedge! went side ways at a great rate of knots! i came of the side door, if she had gone straight would have stayed on :-( mother of the child with pony asked if i was okay i was all yep fine got back on with half the paddock on me and carried on schooling her!! woke the next day couldnt move!!went the hospital as had such a headache! had given myself concussion and mucsle damage!! shoulder still sore now :-( is the opposite shoulder to the one i fell on as kept hold of the reins :-) before that had been years!!!!!!

A week last Saturday out hunting. T did a massive leap over a log pile, peaked on landing (it was very boggy), had his face and knees on the floor, I plopped off the side on to my head and arm. He scrabbled up, shook himself and carried on jumping!

My YO managed to get a pic that I'll put up when I get hold of them of T jumping log piles on his own, ears pricked, he did about 4,

having the time of his life.

I got up, tied my reins back on as both had broken and carried on jumping. My right side, by my ribs, were a bit sore but I was verly lucky as we were both fine. I had to swill my mouth out with brandy as I had so much dirt in it - that was my excuse, anyway, lol! I was ok that day, went out in Swansea for a birthday night out that night but was very sore along my back, shoulders and side, so used lots of deep heat, and still have a bruise on the top of my right arm.

The last time I fell off would have been early 2006 - I was hacking out my mare (who I sold shortly afterwards) and she decided we weren't going any further, put in the most ginormous set of bucks, dumped me on the floor and galloped back up the road, stirrups flapping etc

Fortunately I was just a bit stiff the next day!

fell off last july!! eventing a young horse be!! walked xc course, thought it was massive!! very scared, all kinds of questions! left the start box in a possitive mind!! jumped 19 fences was delighted to get round, breathing a sigh of relief(neva do, until u r through the finish) just the last fence to go!! Horse caught sight of loose horse in lorry park. stopped dead! catapulted me through the air for what seemed like 10 miniutes, landed at the feet of the fence judge, horse galloped back to lorry!!! had to do the walk of shame!!!

Last properly fell off October 2006 - youngster freaked, bolted and threw me into the floor, ended up in hospital with lumbar crush, rather nasty.

Since then have been grimly determined to stay on at all costs although Polly and I briefly parted company at Stockland lovel hunter trial when she slipped over and we both sat down on the ground

Nearly fell off one of the RS ponies last week - bloody thing took off bucking as I swung my leg over the saddle. Was only the prospect of the humiliation of admitting a school pony had decked me that kept me in the saddle

Last time was a while ago (thankfully!), last winter I think! Was riding my Welsh Cob at a BSJA comp, the outdoor warmup arena was very deep in a corner. We were about to go into canter and we promptly fell flat over! Poor boy was very shaken up and refused to jump or even canter after that. Took me a while to get his confidence back.

It was in October I think..hacking out alone, horse tried to run away down a verge heading for home, did a bit of a pulley rein on him but when I released the pressure he went into full bronc, twisting and turning dumping me on my head into a hedge! Luckily he didn't run for home so I had to find the nearest wall to get back on and (nervously) head for home...

I fell off Athena three weeks ago. My friend and I decided to have a walk down to the pub for a coffee (yes they do sell coffee at this pub!!!). Just as I swung my leg over the back of Athena's saddle to dismount, she decides to put her head down and have a bite of grass. Needless to say I splattered on the grass (thankfully) on my back. And, this is all on CCTV! How cool is that!!!!!

A few months ago. Horse was hyper on the beach and I lost a stirrup when she did an unexpected flying start. At the end other horse was pulling up to turn a circle to stop and I had to spin to get out her way. With a fluffy saddle cloth the girth is hard to do up so the saddle slipped right round as I turned. Managed to stay on her back with arms round her neck. The others didnt notice and rode up onto the stone slope, My horse leaped over a metre onto the slope, dropping me off just after we left the sand, so it was an uncomfy landing. She trots off up the slope and my friend had to go and catch her as I was limping

Bit of a sore hip for the day or two after but nothing major luckily
