...clip, when do you do your first clip! i will be doing it myself for the first time and dont know when to do my first! When do you do yours????

I do it when the clocks change. There is absolutely no point doing it before then as her coat won't be through and I'll only have to do it again two or three weeks later.

I would lie to say when mines fluffy and get sweaty and doesnt dry when sweaty but im got a bit of a tidy freak and i do it when the showing seasons finished and he starts looking messy usually beggining to mid october!

mines clipped now my little cobbie has been for about 3 weeks but he is going workers and can be a very sweaty boy!

Yer i proaly wouldnt if i had to pay or he was naughty but i clip myself and it takes me half hour max so doesnt matter if i have to do every other week!!! I dont clip to late as he shows mid to end of december i stop. He had a full summer coat by may ready for early showing.]


Yep cobbies are different i do a few for people all through the summer as they just get so hairy a sweaty, it also helps them stop etting leg mites.

October or November normally as he takes ages to get a decent amount of hair to clip!!!

As late as possible as he's a nightmare to do & has to be sedated so I've got it down to a fine art now - leave it late, clip the lot off & tons of rugs - only have to do him once a year now!!

i do it just before the Oct sponsored ride. Tho this year my mare on box rest so i dont know when I will clip gelding
