When do you call it a day??

So sorry for your loss. I had to make this decision a couple of years ago, for my lovely old boy. It was awful, but the relief i felt once it was over made me sure it was the right decision. you have exhausted every option and there really was no other solution for your lovely mare. She was very lucky to have such a brave and caring owner. Hugs xx

I just dont have the words to tell you how sorry I am, I am filling up reading this post.

((((((((hugs))))))) you gave her every chance you could.

Thinking of you today.

Monty'sMum, I am sat here sobbing. Am so sorry you didn't get the miracle you had planned, but know somewhere she is running free, happy, without pain or need and you wish for her to get better is fulfilled.

*hugs* to you. I only wish I could be the one to call the driver who hit you and inform them that they are now guilty of killing your beloved horse.

You are so brave and did the absolute right thing for your beloved companion.

I have an old pony who I know won't be around forever. I can only hope and pray I am strong enough to make the right decision, like you did, before it's too late.

All our thoughts are with you.

I'm sorry to hear about how your horse was suffering after your accident and that you had to make that terrible choice and do your last loving deed for your friend. It is a horrible decision to make but I think our vet has it right when he asks " Who are you keeping your horse alive for? For you or for the horse?" When you know the answer to that question then the decision is plain ..... though it will not take the pain away for you ... just for her :-(

Wishing you all the best xx

Thank you guys.

Mahoganybay that poem is beautiful, made me cry more but also gives me hope that one day I will be with my angel again.

I miss her more than words i can put into words, i feel like my world has stopped, but taking one day at a time and my 2 boys are helping me too. Horses are so intuitive.

I just have to keep reminding myself that it was the best thing for her that she's out of pain now xxxx

I wish all vets would say this to owners, be as caring and thoughtful as yours, so much less suffering would happen if so and it's a good creed to live by.
