When do you do your last clip?

Before hair starts falling out and chokes you to death!! LOL! I've done it as late as Feb but much later then you'll be clipping summer coat and will look a bit odd.
 
We go to a mock hunt at the beginning of April every year & sometimes it is very warm so I always clip late March & I have never noticed a bother with summer coats on my natives although rule has it you shouldn't leave it that late !!?

As long as he's got a thick rug on, he'll be fine even if we do have a repeat of last year and it snows in Feb... you've given me a kick up the bum actually Koko, I'm going to clip M this month or else I WILL be swimming in a thick cloud of fur :rolleyes:
 
Mine will be clipped out full within the next month, then again if necessary before april.

Although the other gets fully clipped throughout the summer, so the last one was June & then I started again in Sept.
 
I clip my SHP out totally in late March. He has a coat that sheds forever that I cannot bare as to go within a mile means total hair covering including up your nose! He shows from about a week later all summer and it does not effect his summer coat! Competition horses are clipped all year. I would do what you feel is necessary for your horse.
 
mine had grown her coat nearly completely back in the snow but im not riding huge amounts but she gets angry with saddle on if not clipped so just did a little bib the other day.
Am going to re clip all her neck off and trace on body end of this month but shes already moulting (shes tb) so not going to do it any later than that!
 
Did my daughters little pony on new years eve, that will be his last one as hes native and shows and has his first big show mid may so want his coat sorted out for then. Ive clip for a quite a few at the yard and have got quite a few booked in this week for there last clips, all top to toe clips aswell! Oh the joy i hate clipping but like the pocket money it gives me!!!;)
 
Cheers everyone, will defo do the last at the end of the month. Actually I'll get my RI to do it as I'm hopeless at clipping (still learning) and want him to look half decent for his last one :)
